What causes nipples to become larger

We all know that women's breasts are the second symbol of women and are also the food for babies, so women's breasts are particularly important. Women's nipples are part of the breasts, but some people suffer from congenital nipple depressions. Such people will have difficulty breastfeeding, and the child cannot suck milk, and women will also feel pain. During pregnancy, women's nipples will become larger, so what is the reason for the enlargement of nipples?

Experts point out that the normal size of a nipple is about 1.5-2 cm above the plane of the breast peak and has a diameter of 0.8-1 cm. If it exceeds this range, the nipple will appear bloated and too large. Clinically, there are many reasons for enlarged nipples in women, generally including breast swelling during orgasm in sexual life, endocrine breast swelling, or breast swelling during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Moreover, the reason for large nipples is due to genetic factors or because the nipples are sensitive to stimulation. Enlarged nipples can be primary, which is more common in unmarried women, or can be caused by sucking traction in children.

At the same time, in life, large nipples not only bother women, but men also suffer from large nipples. However, the reasons for large nipples in men are mostly due to disease factors. Male breast hyperplasia is called gynecomastia. It is common in puberty and old age. The pathological manifestation is duct hyperplasia without alveolar hyperplasia. It can be generally divided into two categories: primary and secondary:

1. Primary enlarged nipples are usually found in adolescent boys and elderly men. It is mainly caused by excessive increase in endogenous estrogen or decrease in androgen, and can often resolve on its own.

2. Secondary enlarged nipples are common in patients with liver disease, testicular disease, adrenal disease, thyroid disease, diabetes, tumors of the urogenital system or nervous system, prostate disease, long-term use of estrogen, or long-term use of some medications for other diseases, such as: reserpine, remifentanil, digitalis, chlorpromazine, etc., which can also cause breast development, which usually disappears after stopping the medication.

3. If the nipples become larger, and breastfeeding and sexual intercourse are ruled out as the reasons for nipple stimulation, the enlarged nipples may be caused by some diseases in the body. You should go to the hospital for examination in time. Once the disease is found, timely symptomatic treatment of the disease can make the nipples smaller.
