Male breast hyperplasia is called gynecomastia. It is common in puberty and old age. The pathological manifestation is duct hyperplasia without alveolar hyperplasia. It can be generally divided into two categories: primary and secondary:1. Primary enlarged nipples are usually found in adolescent boys and elderly men. It is mainly caused by excessive increase in endogenous estrogen or decrease in androgen, and can often resolve on its own. 2. Secondary enlarged nipples are common in patients with liver disease, testicular disease, adrenal disease, thyroid disease, diabetes, tumors of the urogenital system or nervous system, prostate disease, long-term use of estrogen, or long-term use of some medications for other diseases, such as: reserpine, remifentanil, digitalis, chlorpromazine, etc., which can also cause breast development, which usually disappears after stopping the medication.3. If the nipples become larger, and breastfeeding and sexual intercourse are ruled out as the reasons for nipple stimulation, the enlarged nipples may be caused by some diseases in the body. You should go to the hospital for examination in time. Once the disease is found, timely symptomatic treatment of the disease can make the nipples smaller. |
