Blood in stool after childbirth

Blood in stool after childbirth

There is blood in the stool after a normal birth, but there is no need to panic. It is more likely to be caused by physiological factors. If you experience constipation during pregnancy, it may be caused by long-term constipation. In addition, you should avoid spicy food, avoid sitting for long periods of time, and increase exercise appropriately. Anal exercises are a good choice. Massage and whole grains are even more indispensable. If the situation is serious, please consult a doctor. This article is only for reference.

Measures to be taken:

1. Keep it clean. When postpartum bleeding occurs in the stool, the mother does not need to be too nervous. In addition to normal treatment, she should pay attention to keeping the anus clean and gently wipe it with warm water after each bowel movement.

2. Avoid sitting for long periods of time. Sitting for a long time can increase the pressure on the anus. Postpartum mothers should try to avoid sitting for a long time. They can also do eye-lifting exercises frequently to strengthen the contraction of the anal sphincter, promote local blood circulation, and reduce postpartum bloody stools.

3. Pay attention to your diet. During the confinement period, mothers should try to avoid spicy and irritating foods to prevent aggravating symptoms such as anal edema.

4. Massage. Abdominal massage can be added after delivery to increase intestinal peristalsis, promote digestion, and reduce bleeding caused by postpartum constipation.

5. Develop the habit of daily bowel movements. Insisting on daily bowel movements can shorten the intervals, avoid excessive accumulation and excessive water absorption causing constipation, and reduce postpartum stool bleeding.

Diet:

1. Eat more crude fiber foods

In fact, the reason why pregnant women have bloody stools is largely related to long-term constipation. As long as the constipation problem is solved, the bloody stools will naturally disappear. It is recommended to eat more foods rich in fiber during pregnancy. These foods can promote intestinal peristalsis, thereby effectively solving problems such as constipation and bloody stools.

Crude fiber foods: such as soybeans, red beans, mung beans, celery, bamboo shoots, peaches, black dates and other fruits and vegetables; whole grains and their products, such as oats, corn, brown rice, whole wheat bread; vegetables, such as leeks, celery, cabbage, spinach, etc.

2. Do more pelvic floor exercises

Pregnant women should pay attention to regular pelvic floor exercises, which can effectively prevent blood in the stool. Especially for some pregnant women who rest in bed for a long time, only by doing more ani exercises can they promote blood circulation in the anus and prevent hemorrhoids. Hemorrhoids are one of the causes of bloody stools. Without hemorrhoids, there will naturally be no bloody stools.

3. Exercise

When pregnant women have blood in their stools, it is often caused by hemorrhoids. Generally, constipation is prone to occur during pregnancy, which can cause hemorrhoids. It is recommended that you do more non-strenuous exercise as much as possible while ensuring safety. Sports activities include walking, yoga, etc. Moderate physical activity can help pregnant women defecate smoothly and prevent constipation.
