How to delay menstruation?

How to delay menstruation?

Generally speaking, every girl has her own relatively fixed physiological cycle, so menstruation is also called period. Because they know that they will have their periods on fixed days every month, many girls can make preparations in advance. If they encounter special circumstances, such as study, work or love, they need to be in good physical condition during those days. Many girls may think of delaying menstruation. Is there any practical method?

After entering puberty, women will experience their first menstruation, which heralds the transformation from girl to woman. Menstruation will continue until menopause, except for pregnancy and some special circumstances. Sometimes, due to special reasons, some female friends may need to delay menstruation. What are the methods to delay menstruation? Let me learn about it.

1. Use contraceptive pills to advance or delay menstruation. In addition to being used to regulate menstruation, it also has a contraceptive function. The contraceptive pill itself is a complex hormone, but it must be prepared one month in advance, that is, it should be taken from the fifth day of the menstrual period and continued until three days before the menstrual period. For example, you plan to travel abroad on July 26 for 10 days. If your period comes on July 2nd, you should start taking the medicine from July 6th and continue until July 3rd. When the trip is over, your period will come around August 7th. Although this method has a high success rate, its disadvantage is that you have to take the medicine every day for more than 20 days in a row. If you forget to take it, all your efforts will be wasted.

2. If you don’t have time to prepare one month in advance, you can also use progesterone to advance your period. That is, take progesterone continuously for 5-7 days, and your menstruation will come around the 5th day after stopping the medication. Or you can take an injection to induce menstruation, which has the same effect, that is, to make your menstruation come early. The advantage of this method is that the medication time is short, but if your menstrual period is generally about seven days, it is best to report to your gynecologist three weeks in advance so that you have time to prepare. If you get your period first, you will have fewer worries.

3. If the activity is decided at the last minute, or the activity is imminent and it is less than a week away from your menstrual period, then the above two methods may not be suitable for you. The doctor will prescribe some high-dose estrogen plus progesterone for you. Start taking it from the day when your menstruation is expected, and take it for 10 consecutive days. Your menstruation will not come until you stop taking the medicine. This is the method currently used by most people.

The three methods introduced above can all delay menstruation, and the methods used under the guidance of a doctor are generally scientific and effective. Although this can achieve the purpose of delaying menstruation, it causes harm to the body. Unless in some special circumstances, it is recommended that female friends should not frequently use the method of delaying menstruation to avoid causing irreparable damage to the endocrine system.
