Itchy labia

Itchy labia

Many people have experienced itching on both sides of the labia, but few patients will go to the hospital for examination and treatment because of this situation. In this case, they will ignore the development of their disease, which will make their condition worse. During the treatment process, you also need to keep yourself clean and hygienic, change your underwear frequently, and try to wear loose and breathable underwear.

General treatment

Pay attention to menstrual hygiene, keep the vulva clean and dry, and avoid scratching. Do not wash with hot water and avoid using soap. When there is an infection, potassium permanganate solution can be used for a sitz bath, but local scrubbing is strictly prohibited. Clothing, especially underwear, should be loose and breathable. Avoid alcohol and spicy or allergic foods.

Treatment of the cause

Eliminate local or systemic factors that cause itching, such as Trichomonas, Candida infection or diabetes. If pubic lice are found, the pubic hair should be shaved, the underwear should be boiled and washed, and external fungicides and insecticides can also be applied.

External treatment

External treatment: Vulvar itching is a common disease among women. In addition to oral medications, external medications should also be used as they can directly reach the affected area and have the effect of killing bacteria and relieving itching. If the skin of the genitals is damaged, you can sprinkle pearl powder (Chinese patent medicine) on the affected area, or use 3 grams of clam powder, 1.5 grams of realgar, and 0.3 grams of borneol, grind them into fine powder and apply it to the affected area.

Some patients not only have vulvar itching, but also white patches on the vulvar mucosa or the skin near the mucosa. You should ask a gynecologist for further examination. If it is vulvar leukoplakia and the area of the white patches is very small, you can try the following methods:

① 30g each of Cnidium monnieri, Millettia reticulata, Dictamni cortex, Radix scutellariae, chrysanthemum, and Radix scutellariae, 15g each of Zeqi, Artemisia argyi, and Sophora flavescens, 12g of Zanthoxylum bungeanum, and 1g of Borneol, decoct in water and use for external washing;

②Apply psoralea corylifolia ointment to the affected area;

③ 24 grams of Polygonum multiflorum, 12 grams each of Chuanduan, Viscum album, and Lycium barbarum, 9 grams each of Scrophularia ningpoensis, Ophiopogon japonicus, Moutan bark, Rehmannia glutinosa, and Rubus idaeus, 30 grams each of Cuscuta australis and Leonurus japonicus. Decoct in water and take in 3 doses.

External treatment for vaginal itching

1. Vaginal itching, especially actual itching, should be treated mainly with external treatments, such as vaginal washing, fumigation, and medication. For details, see the external treatments for "leucorrhea".

2. For vaginal itching caused by deficiency syndrome, internal treatment is the main approach. If it is senile vaginitis, it can be combined with external treatment.

3. If the vulvar itching is caused by vulvar malnutrition (white lesions on the vulva), it must be treated according to the disease. External treatment includes fumigation and bathing with Chinese medicine, which mainly warms the kidney and dispels cold, promotes blood circulation and removes wind.

Prescription: 30 grams of Epimedium, 30 grams of Psoralea corylifolia, 30 grams of Cnidium monnieri, 30 grams of Red Peony Root, 30 grams of Rhubarb, 30 grams of Schizonepeta tenuifolia, and 30 grams of Polygonatum sibiricum. Decoction for fumigation and bathing in a tub, 1 dose daily, re-reuse the residue, 20 days as a course of treatment; stop using during menstruation, 3-6 courses of treatment. And observe changes in the condition to rule out "vulvar cancer".

4. If you suffer from pubic lice and pubic itching, you must avoid contact with family members to prevent the infection from spreading to them.

Prescription: Use lice sweeper to eradicate lice in 3-5 days without shaving, but the underwear should be disinfected with disinfectant or treated with high temperature.
