Is it normal to have some blood in vaginal discharge?

We all know that many women have abnormal leucorrhea in life. This disease is not only manifested in the leucorrhea having a strange smell and the leucorrhea is not white. Some women even have a little blood in their leucorrhea. If there is a little blood before menstruation, it means that menstruation is coming. If there is a little blood during menstruation, it means that there is a disease. So is it normal for leucorrhea to have a little blood?

Mid-month bleeding is considered ovulation bleeding.

Ovulation bleeding occurs when the ovulation of the follicle causes fluctuations in hormone levels in the body, leading to the shedding of the endometrium and causing bleeding. The amount is usually small and not easy to detect. In this case, a gynecological examination is required to rule out inflammation, endometrial lesions, tumors, etc. Generally, no treatment is required, and symptomatic treatment is only required when bleeding is heavy. In a normal woman's menstrual cycle, the 12th to 14th day is the date of ovulation. At this time, due to the rupture of the follicle and the fluctuation of estrogen, the vascular permeability changes and red blood cells leak out of the blood vessels, causing a small amount of vaginal bleeding. This is the ovulation bleeding phenomenon.

Bloody leucorrhea, or leucorrhea mixed with blood, should alert you to the possibility of malignant tumors such as cervical cancer and endometrial cancer. However, bloody leucorrhea caused by cervical polyps, cervical erosion, submucosal myoma, dysfunctional uterine bleeding, urethral caruncle, and intrauterine contraceptive device is also more common.

There are two types of bloody vaginal discharge: physiological and pathological. Generally speaking, some women will experience ovulation bleeding during their ovulation period, also known as mid-menstrual bleeding, which refers to a small amount of bleeding between two normal menstrual periods, which may be accompanied by varying degrees of lower abdominal pain. If the symptoms are mild, no treatment is needed. If the bleeding is heavy or affects fertility, medication can be used for treatment.

However, bloody leucorrhea should also consider the possibility of the following diseases:

(1) Cervical polyps.

(2) Acute vaginitis.

(3) Cervical erosion.

(4) Senile vaginitis.

(5) Cervical cancer.

(6) Submucosal uterine fibroids.

(7) Endometrial cancer. In addition, sometimes due to the placement of an intrauterine contraceptive ring, there may be some blood mixed in the leucorrhea.

You can go to the hospital for a check-up to see if it is normal ovulation bleeding or bleeding caused by a disease.
