What to check in early pregnancy

In the early stages of pregnancy, as the secretion of progesterone and estrogen suddenly increases, women may experience some uncomfortable symptoms. For example, many women experience nausea and vomiting in early pregnancy. Women must go to the hospital regularly for prenatal check-ups in the early stages of pregnancy. This can not only ensure the health of women, but also ensure that the fetus in the womb is intact. Let’s find out what to check in early pregnancy?

The first three months of pregnancy are called the early pregnancy. During this stage, the pregnant woman's physical and mental changes are great. Whether the diagnosis and treatment are correct plays a key role in the baby's growth and development and whether the pregnant woman can successfully pass the pregnancy and delivery. In recent years, with the development of perinatal medicine, people have gradually paid attention to the importance of early pregnancy examinations.

The first check-up in early pregnancy is usually done about 40 days after menstruation. The doctor will ask about the medical history, perform a gynecological examination, and confirm the pregnancy. If necessary, prenatal consultation and genetic counseling should be conducted to determine whether the pregnant woman can continue the pregnancy. Early pregnancy examinations can determine whether the size of the uterus matches the time of menopause, thereby understanding the development of the embryonic stage, and can detect abnormalities of the reproductive organs and gynecological diseases.

Another part of the early pregnancy check-up is to do blood, urine and liver function tests to detect various diseases that affect pregnancy as early as possible.

After the pregnancy is confirmed, the baby should be checked monthly from the third month of pregnancy until the sixth month of pregnancy. The examination includes measuring blood pressure, weight and height of the uterine fundus, listening to the fetal heart rate, and rechecking blood, urine, and leucorrhea when necessary.

If examination confirms that the pregnancy will put the pregnant woman's life in danger, or if the baby is found to have serious congenital malformations, the pregnancy should be terminated as soon as possible.
