What causes ovarian fibroids?

You all know that for some infertile women, when they go to the hospital for a physical examination, they are likely to have ovarian tumors. Ovarian tumors must be treated in time, so that they can have the opportunity to discharge eggs. If they are not treated in time, the eggs will be discharged, and the quality of the eggs may also have some problems. So how is ovarian fibroids caused?

1. How do ovarian fibroids form?

1.1 Environmental factors

The high incidence of ovarian tumors in industrially developed countries and among upper-class women may be related to high cholesterol in the diet. In addition, ionizing radiation, asbestos and talcum powder can affect oocytes and increase the chance of inducing ovarian tumors. Smoking and deficiency of vitamins A, C and E may also be related to the onset of the disease.

1.2 Endocrine factors

Ovarian tumors mostly occur in nulliparous or infertile women. Pregnancy seems to have an antagonistic effect on ovarian tumors. It is believed that repeated damage to the ovarian surface epithelial cells caused by daily ovulation is related to the occurrence of ovarian tumors. In addition, breast cancer and endometrial cancer are often complicated by ovarian tumors, and all three diseases are dependent on this hormone.

1.3 Genetic and family factors

It is one of the risk factors for ovarian tumors. It is understood that about 20-25% of ovarian tumor patients have tumor patients among their immediate relatives.

2. What are the symptoms of ovarian fibroids?

2.1. Edema of vulva and lower limbs

As the ovarian cancer grows, the pelvic veins are compressed, causing poor blood flow and obstruction of lymphatic return, resulting in edema of the vulva and lower limbs.

2.2. Oligomenorrhea or amenorrhea

Most ovarian cancer patients have basically no changes in their menstruation. As the tumor grows, the cancer cells will destroy the normal ovarian tissue, leading to ovarian dysfunction and causing oligomenorrhea or amenorrhea.
