What are the methods to promote fallopian tube peristalsis?

As the name suggests, the fallopian tube is a channel that can transport eggs, allowing the eggs to successfully combine with sperm and thus give birth to a healthy baby. Logically speaking, a fallopian tube that allows the egg to pass quickly must use certain methods to make the egg move, so some women believe that the fallopian tube can move. So the question is, what is the way to promote fallopian tube peristalsis?

Do fallopian tubes move?

The fallopian tubes can move, but poor fallopian tube movement will affect the function of picking up eggs, which will have an impact on conception. Not only must the fallopian tubes be normally unobstructed, but more importantly, their normal peristaltic function must be restored.

The fallopian tube has extremely complex and delicate physiological functions, and plays an important role in egg collection, sperm capacitation, egg fertilization, fertilized egg transportation, and the survival and development of early embryos. With the development of reproductive assisted technologies such as embryo transfer and in vitro fertilization, the importance of understanding the fallopian tube in the reproductive process has become increasingly prominent. The fallopian tube can transport sperm and eggs to the ampulla from opposite directions within a certain period of time and create a suitable environment for the two to combine into a fertilized egg. The fertilized egg continues to stay in the fallopian tube and develop and divide until the endometrium and myometrium have matured and become suitable for the fertilized egg to implant, and then it enters the uterine cavity through the fallopian tube. How the fallopian tube completes such a complex physiological process is still under exploration.

Once the fallopian tube is infected, symptoms will appear quickly. During the inflammation process, the infection is rarely limited to the fallopian tube lining, but causes the entire fallopian tube to swell, become congested, and become red, and may even cause blockage of the opening of the fallopian tube fimbria or other parts, resulting in fluid accumulation, pus accumulation, lumps, and cysts in the fallopian tube.

When should I do fallopian tube surgery?

Hysterosalpingography is a test method used to check whether the female fallopian tubes are unobstructed. It is one of the most widely used methods in clinical practice. Iodine, a high-density substance with a high atomic number, is injected into the uterine cavity through the cervical canal. It forms a clear artificial contrast with the surrounding tissues under X-ray film, making the lumen visible, thereby understanding the situation inside the uterus and fallopian tube cavity. Angiography can not only indicate whether the fallopian tubes are unobstructed and the location of obstruction, but also observe the morphology of the uterine cavity. This type of examination is relatively safe, does not require anesthesia, does not cause obvious pain, and is acceptable to patients.

This examination is less invasive and, under the operation of an experienced doctor and with the use of a digital X-ray machine, can make a correct diagnosis of fallopian tube obstruction with an accuracy rate of 98%. It also has a certain therapeutic effect and is the most commonly used examination method to understand whether the fallopian tubes are unobstructed, the degree of patency, and the specific location of the blockage. In many aspects, it is irreplaceable by ultrasound, CT, MRI, hysteroscopy, laparoscopy, fallopian tube endoscopy, etc.

The time for angiography is chosen to be within 3 to 7 days after the end of menstruation. For patients with irregular menstruation, it can be delayed to 10 days. For patients with particularly irregular menstruation, such as amenorrhea, it can be done at any time, but the possibility of pregnancy must be ruled out. For a very small number of women, there will be a small amount of vaginal bleeding in the first month after pregnancy. Therefore, women with scanty menstruation or amenorrhea must rule out the possibility of pregnancy.
