Silicone breast augmentation is a relatively common method of breast enlargement. It is a technique that involves implanting prosthetic silicone into the breasts. After breast augmentation with prosthetic silicone, the breasts will appear fuller and the breast shape will be more symmetrical. It is favored by many women. Silicone breast augmentation can generally be maintained for a lifetime. If illness or breast disease occurs, the silicone needs to be removed. Otherwise, it is generally effective for life. Can silicone breast augmentation last a lifetime? As long as there are no complications, breast augmentation with implants can maintain its effects for life and breastfeeding can continue normally. Surgical method Traditional breast augmentation surgery requires making a small incision in the armpit, inframammary fold or areola, inserting a pre-selected breast implant, adjusting the position and shape, then suturing the wound, and removing the stitches after the wound has healed. A rest period of 5-7 days is generally required. Common incision choices for breast augmentation surgery: Inframammary fold incision: It is close to the starting point at the inner and lower part of the pectoralis major muscle, which can not only fully dissect the inner and lower part of the cavity, but also avoid excessive dissect of the outer and upper part of the cavity. After the operation, the prosthesis is less likely to shift outward and upward, and the cleavage is also obvious. The disadvantage of the inframammary fold incision is that scars are left under the breast, and many unmarried people are unwilling to choose this incision. Axillary incision: The position is higher, the postoperative scar is more hidden, and it is easier to implant the breast prosthesis deep in the pectoralis major muscle. However, it is difficult to fully peel off the starting point of the inner and lower part of the pectoralis major muscle through this incision. The resulting cavity is larger at the top and smaller at the bottom. After the operation, the prosthesis is positioned high, the cleavage is not obvious, and the breast shape is not satisfactory. Intraareolar incision: Designed to be placed within the areola, that is, within the pigmented skin. Since the areola here is darker in color and more uneven, the postoperative incision scar is almost invisible, achieving a truly traceless breast augmentation with a satisfactory shape. Indications 1. Breast hypoplasia and breast atrophy after pregnancy; 2. Breast dysplasia caused by breast tissue lesions before puberty; 3. After simple mastectomy; 4. Rapid weight loss leads to emaciation and flat chest; 5. The breasts on both sides are asymmetrical in size; 6. Those who have mild sagging breasts and want to increase the volume in addition to correcting the sagging 7. Breast tissue atrophy due to endocrine disorders caused by sterilization and other reasons; 8. Congenital breast ptosis; 9. Congenital chest deformity, such as Poland syndrome. |
