Will the ovarian follicles turn into cysts if they are not released?

When they reach childbearing age and feel that all conditions are ripe, some women begin to prepare for pregnancy. When preparing for pregnancy, you need to check your ovulation. If you have sex during the ovulation period, the chance of pregnancy is often very high. However, for some women, the follicles do not rupture during ovulation, which can lead to infertility. And if you check at this time, you can also see cysts in the ovaries. Is this caused by ovulation of the follicles?

Reasons why follicles do not ovulate:

Reason 1: Ovulation is a very complex physiological process. All links in the reproductive endocrine axis must remain normal, otherwise it will cause long-term or temporary anovulation.

Reason 2: The hormonal environment of the mature follicle itself is very important for ovulation. If the ratio of estrogen to androgen in the follicular fluid is unbalanced, the follicle may become atretic.

Reason 3: It is now clear that in amenorrhea and lactation patients, anovulation is caused by hyperprolactinemia, which confirms that prolactin plays an important role in ovulation. Serum secretin levels will increase when you are in a state of tension and stress.

Reason 4: Infertile women can be said to be in a state of tension for a long time. Since they have to measure their basal body temperature every day and choose the time to have sex every month, the fear of not getting pregnant and the outside world's contempt and ridicule will invisibly give them a lot of mental pressure, which may cause high prolactin and no ovulation.

The harm of follicle maturation without ovulation:

The normal size of the dominant follicle is between 1.8-2.2. If the follicle is too large and cannot be discharged normally, ovarian cysts will form, which is generally related to endocrine disorders. However, this is a physiological cyst, which will usually disappear on its own by the next month and generally does not require treatment.

If the follicles are mature but cannot ovulate, it will lead to infertility. If female friends check at this time, they may also see the appearance of cysts. However, this cyst is physiological, so don't worry too much. It will disappear when menstruation comes. However, we should also pay attention to pathological cysts. If the cysts do not subside, we should seek medical attention in time.
