What are the symptoms of high lactose?

Prolactin is one of the hormones secreted by the human pituitary gland. It is also commonly called prolactin. Generally, prolactin is secreted very vigorously in women in the late pregnancy or lactation period. Prolactin can promote the development of breasts and lactation. If a woman's prolactin level is high, the body will show some symptoms. What are the symptoms of high prolactin? The following are the symptoms of high prolactin.

High levels of prolactin can cause the following symptoms:

1. Menstrual irregularities: primary amenorrhea, secondary amenorrhea, scanty menstruation, functional uterine bleeding, luteal insufficiency, etc. Irregular menstruation will affect women's conception, causing infertility, habitual miscarriage and other effects. It may also cause women to have decreased libido, excessive hair growth, and acne.

2. Galactorrhea: Milk can be seen by squeezing both breasts, and fat droplets can be seen under the microscope. Galactorrhea can be divided into non-tumor type, tumor type, and simple galactorrhea. Most breasts are normal or accompanied by lobular hyperplasia or macromastia.

3. Osteopenia: Long-term decrease in estrogen levels due to HP can cause a decrease in bone density.

4. When prolactin is too high, women may experience visual impairment, neurological problems, hypopituitarism, cerebral hemorrhage, cerebrospinal fluid rhinorrhoea and other diseases.

Causes of high prolactin

1. The secretion of prolactin is pulsatile and varies greatly throughout the day. The pulse amplitude of prolactin secretion increases rapidly within 1 hour of sleep, then the secretion remains at a high level during sleep and begins to decline after waking up. The serum prolactin concentration at 3 or 4 o'clock in the morning is twice that at noon.

2. The secretion of prolactin is affected by many factors. In addition, drugs such as progesterone, dexamethasone, cortisol, and acute stress situations such as intense physical activity and trauma can cause increased secretion of prolactin. Some drugs can also cause an increase in prolactin.

3. Taking drugs such as reserpine, chlorpromazine, morphine, etc. for a long time can inhibit the release of prolactin inhibitory factor by changing the production, absorption and metabolism of dopamine, resulting in excessive secretion of prolactin and causing amenorrhea and galactorrhea. Oral contraceptives can cause increased prolactin secretion from the pituitary gland and decreased gonadotropin, leading to amenorrhea and galactorrhea. This is why some people who take oral contraceptives cannot get pregnant immediately.
