Uterine adnexa is a medical term often mentioned by obstetricians and gynecologists. Uterine adnexa mainly includes the uterus and its bilateral fallopian tubes, uterus and ovaries. The bilateral fallopian tubes and uterus and ovaries are collectively referred to as adnexa. The uterus is located in the center of the pelvis, behind the ischial tuberosity. It is the organ that creates the fetus and causes menstruation. The uterus includes the uterine body and cervix. The uterine body is in the middle of the uterine body, which is the location of the uterine wall. The uterine body is surrounded by the myometrium, which is often seen in uterine fibroids. On both sides of the uterus are a pair of bilateral fallopian tubes, uterus and ovaries. The uterine horns connect the bilateral fallopian tubes, and the ends of the bilateral fallopian tubes are the uterus and ovaries. There are two ovaries and two fallopian tubes, located on the left and right sides of the uterus.

What are the complications of uterine oophorectomy?

1. Depression: Some women experience great mental stress after having their uterus and bilateral adnexa removed, especially those who have fertility requirements, who often suffer from great pain after losing their fertility. Secondly, after the uterine adnexectomy, the decrease in female hormones will also affect the function of the central nervous system, causing the patient's mental state to become worse, making it easier to develop psychological problems such as anxiety and depression.

2. Abnormalities in the urinary and reproductive system: Removal of both uterine adnexa will definitely affect the endocrine function, and the female urinary and reproductive system will also have problems if it loses its endocrine support point. For example, shrinkage and softening of the urethral mucosa and reduced elasticity of the urethral tissue are all symptoms that may occur after hysterectomy. The occurrence of these symptoms in the urogenital system will also lead to a decrease in resistance and is prone to complications such as urinary tract infection.

3. Decreased sexual function: After the removal of the uterus and bilateral adnexa, it will affect the patient's mental state and endocrine level, and thus will also cause the patient's sexual function to decline. It can be said that this is a serious complication. The patient may usually show symptoms of decreased sexual sensation, difficulty in sexual pleasure, low or lack of libido, which will lead to a decrease in the frequency of sexual activity. Some women even worry about and are tired of having sex.

4. Premature menopause: If active prevention is not carried out after the removal of both uterine adnexa, premature menopause may occur, which may usually manifest as irritability, insomnia, night sweats, etc. In severe cases, cardiovascular diseases and osteoporosis may also occur. The key to this problem is that the human body's various systems suddenly lose the support points of growth hormone.
