It can also alleviate the local infection caused by many people who need to use diapers for a long time. When inserting the urinary catheter, it is necessary to judge according to the type and care steps.

1. Ordinary urinary catheter: used for disposable non-indwelling urinary catheterization

2. Fungiform catheter: suprapubic cystostomy and cecum fistula

3. Pointed catheter: prostate hypertrophy

4. Metal catheter: urethral stenosis causes failure of conventional catheterization

5. Balloon catheter: commonly used in clinical practice

Steps in catheter care

Wash your hands to remove germs and prevent infection.

Prepare the following equipment: 1. A pack of cotton sticks, 2. A roll of breathable paper tape, 3. A plastic bag, 4. A bedpan, 5. Physiological saline or boiled water, 6. Betadine disinfectant solution (as needed).

Place the bedpan under the patient's buttocks.

Manually spread your labia or retract your foreskin.

Use a cotton swab moistened with saline or boiled water to clean the catheter about one inch (2.5 cm) near the end of the catheter. Use one cotton swab each time and throw the dirty cotton swab into the prepared plastic container.

Check for any crusting or unusual drainage or discharge. If so, please inform medical staff.

Fix the catheter in a tic-tac-toe pattern on the inner thigh (for female patients) or lower abdomen (for male patients) with breathable adhesive tape. Change the adhesive site every day to prevent skin damage caused by long-term adhesion or catheter compression.
