What does vaginal bleeding look like?

The vagina is a very important part of women, and it is also a relatively private part. However, the typical symptoms of some gynecological diseases occur in the vagina. Vaginal bleeding can be said to be a common clinical problem, and this symptom is related to many factors. The causes of vaginal bleeding are very complex, and there are many factors to consider, such as the amount of bleeding. So what does vaginal bleeding look like?

1. Vaginal bleeding

Vaginal bleeding refers to bleeding from any part of the reproductive tract. The bleeding manifestations can be divided into menorrhagia, prolonged menstruation, irregular bleeding or contact bleeding. The amount of bleeding can be more or less. Bleeding can come from the vulva, vagina, cervix and endometrium, with the most common bleeding coming from the uterus. It is a common symptom of female reproductive organ diseases.

2. Nursing

Correctly estimate the amount of vaginal bleeding; pay attention to the balance of water, electrolytes and acid-base; ensure the supply of calories, protein and vitamins; meet the patient's daily life needs and avoid accidental injuries. Persuade the patient to get adequate rest; provide effective hemostasis and prevent infection; supplement nutrition to enhance the body's resistance; complete various examinations and tests as ordered by the doctor; and strengthen psychological care.

3. Note

When asking about the medical history, pay attention to the patient's age, as age is important in identifying vaginal bleeding. Newborn girls have a small amount of vaginal bleeding a few days after birth. This is because a sudden drop in estrogen from the mother causes withdrawal bleeding, which usually stops on its own within a few days. Vaginal bleeding in early childhood and after menopause should be considered as a malignancy. Vaginal bleeding in adolescent girls is often functional uterine bleeding. Vaginal bleeding in women of childbearing age should be considered to be related to pregnancy.
