Ovarian cysts found after abortion

Ovarian cysts found after abortion

Nowadays people's minds are very open, and living together before marriage is a very normal thing. If you don't take proper contraceptive measures and you get pregnant but don't want the child, the easiest way to solve it is abortion. Abortion is a minor operation, and the process is not very complicated. However, some people are found to have ovarian cysts after abortion. In fact, there is no necessary connection between the two, and the woman may have an ovarian cyst. It is helpful to have a comprehensive understanding of the common causes of ovarian cysts.

Ovarian cysts can be classified into benign and malignant types. Ovarian cyst is a type of ovarian tumor in a broad sense. The main causes of ovarian cysts are as follows:

1. Endometrial implantation theory: Sampson was the first to propose that endometrial fragments shed during menstruation flow back through the fallopian tubes into the abdominal cavity with menstrual blood, implant in the ovaries and adjacent pelvic peritoneum, and subsequently grow and spread, developing into endometriosis.

2. Lymphatic and venous spread theory: The presence of endometrial tissue found in the pelvic veins or lymph nodes supports this argument, and it is believed that endometriosis occurring in organs far away from the pelvic area, such as the lungs, hands, skin and muscles of the thighs, may be the result of lymphatic or venous spread.

3. Coelomic metaplasia theory: The epithelium of the female reproductive system, the ovarian reproductive epithelium and the pelvic peritoneal pleura all originate from the coelomic epithelium. When affected by factors such as inflammation, trauma, and excessive estrogen, or when the coelomic epithelium is repeatedly stimulated by menstrual blood, hormones or chronic inflammation, it can metaplasia into endometrial-like tissue and form endometriosis.

4. Immunology theory: Some people believe that when a woman's immune function is normal, the local immune system, which is mainly composed of endometrial cells that flow into the abdominal cavity through the fallopian tubes during menstruation, will kill them. If the local immune function is insufficient or the number of endometrial cells that flow back into the abdominal cavity is too large, the immune cells will not be enough to kill them, and endometriosis will occur.

5. Genetic theory: The incidence of the same disease in family members of some patients with endometriosis is higher than that in ordinary women, so it is speculated that there may be a genetic gene.

Generally speaking, abortion does not cause ovarian cysts. If an ovarian cyst occurs, it must be treated promptly to prevent the occurrence of complications. At the same time, after the abortion, you must pay attention to your own care to avoid the invasion of pathogens.
