The hazards of cosmetics containing lead and mercury

Especially in summer, many women pursue whitening and sun protection. Many cosmetics can achieve the effect of quick whitening of the skin in a short period of time. However, this kind of cosmetics contains a lot of chemicals, which may be excessive lead and mercury. Because these chemicals are like hormones, they are very effective, but they are also very harmful to the human body. So what are the hazards of cosmetics containing lead and mercury?

Lead cosmetics can achieve a rapid whitening effect in a short period of time. After people use lead-containing cosmetics for about 2-3 weeks, their skin will become noticeably smoother, whiter, and dark spots and acne will also quickly fade, which surprises consumers and encourages them to use them for a long time.

About half a year to a year after using it, skin problems will appear: worsening of dark spots, blackheads, red blood streaks (capillary dilation), thickening of cheek hairs, facial skin erythema, peeling, tightness, and a series of other symptoms. Once you stop using it, the symptoms will become more severe (because lead agents have a latent phenomenon).

Therefore, long-term use of cosmetics containing excessive lead may cause irreversible pigmentation on the skin, and pigmentation may quickly rebound and deepen or worsen, or induce other serious complications such as allergic dermatitis, skin cancer, and even lead to disfigurement. In addition, the potential harm of lead to the whole body can damage the nerves, digestion, urinary system, endocrine system, bones, etc. Lead can also enter the fetus and infant through the placenta and breast milk, affecting the health of the next generation.

It can cause depigmentation, skin irritation, skin damage, insomnia, fatigue, headache and other symptoms.

1. If cosmetics contain lead and mercury, it will cause harm to human health, and not just the kidneys and liver. Lead can cause harm to the nervous system, digestive system, and bone hematopoietic function; objects containing mercury compounds can cause damage to human bones, kidneys, liver, brain, etc. The general content in cosmetics will not endanger life in the short term, but long-term use of cosmetics containing lead and mercury will not only cause serious skin aging, but also affect physical health.

2. Lead poisoning can cause a series of abnormal manifestations in the body's nervous system, blood system, and digestive system, affecting the normal functions of the human body.

3. It causes accumulation in the body, thus causing various adverse reactions in the body, the most important of which is the central nervous system, such as insomnia, fatigue, poor memory, and especially obvious changes in mood.
