1. Postpartum uterine recovery

The recovery of the uterus after childbirth is mainly the gradual recovery of the uterine muscle fibers to the pre-pregnancy state.

2. The second is the recovery of the cervix. During delivery, the cervix will open until the baby is delivered. The enlarged cervix also needs to recover slowly after delivery.

The recovery process takes about 6 to 8 weeks, and everyone will definitely feel something during this process: sometimes you will feel abdominal pain, which we call uterine contraction. If you breastfeed after delivery, this feeling will be more obvious. Once the child sucks milk, it will stimulate uterine contraction. But after two or three days, you will gradually adapt and the pain will not be so obvious.

How to relieve abdominal pain after childbirth

Abdominal hot compress method: Use a hot towel to apply heat to the painful area, or use moxibustion sticks to apply moxibustion to Guanyuan point (3 inches below the navel, that is, about 3 horizontal fingers below the navel) and Zhongji point (4 inches below the navel, that is, 4 horizontal fingers below the navel), or heat salt and put it in a cloth bag to iron the painful area, or iron the Guanyuan point and Zhongji point. Hot compress on the abdomen can dispel cold, dredge meridians and relieve pain.

Massage method: Use hot water to massage the lower abdomen, from the heart to the navel, rub in circles around the navel several times, then rub down to the top of the pubic symphysis (the transverse bone at the pubic hair), rub in circles several times, then place your hands on the painful area for a moment, and repeat the above actions. However, when doing circular massage, the direction should be opposite to the previous time. Repeat this massage 10-15 times each time, once in the morning and once in the evening. Help eliminate blood stasis and relieve postpartum abdominal pain.
