What mosquito repellent should pregnant women use?

Pregnant women are national treasures at home, like pandas. What they eat and use is carefully studied for fear that it will affect the health of the fetus in the belly and the pregnant woman. So in the hot summer, when mosquitoes are buzzing and biting people everywhere, what should pregnant women use to repel mosquitoes? Also, generally speaking, pregnant women are more attractive to mosquitoes than other people. Why is that? See below for details.

Reasons for attracting mosquitoes:

1. The "pregnancy smell" is too strong

The body temperature of pregnant women is generally 1.5 degrees higher than that of ordinary people. When the weather gets hot, mothers sweat easily, and their sweat glands secrete more vigorously. The exhaled gases contain many kinds of chemical substances. Bacteria are easily bred on the skin because of a lot of sweat. Under the influence of temperature and hormones, the mother's "pregnancy smell" is also very strong, which is why she attracts mosquitoes.

2. Improper clothing

In summer, we usually wear light-colored clothes. We should wear less dark-colored clothes that are not breathable, because mosquitoes like shaded and humid environments. Mothers sweat a lot, and their clothes are not breathable, which makes them sweat more. Dark-colored clothes will also create a dark environment, so it is best to wear light-colored clothes with good breathability. However, don't wear clothes too revealingly, as this will not help to shield mosquitoes.

3. Use various cosmetics

Most cosmetics contain stearic acid, which is attractive to mosquitoes. The mixed smell of sweat in summer and these products also makes mothers who wear cosmetics more attractive to mosquitoes than mothers who don't wear makeup.

It is important to prevent mosquitoes in summer, so how to prevent them?

1. Taking a bath frequently can remove the smell of body secretions and reduce the possibility of being attacked by mosquitoes.

2. Eating more foods containing vitamin B can help us repel mosquitoes, because after being metabolized by the human body, it will emit a special smell through sweat, which can repel mosquitoes. Foods containing vitamin B include brown rice, beans, dried fruits, nuts, peanut kernels, fruits, green vegetables, milk, freshwater fish, seafood, etc.

3. Wearing light-colored clothes such as yellow and white can reduce the chance of being bitten by mosquitoes.

4. Mosquitoes like light, high temperature, dark and humid environment, and hide during the day and come out at night, so we can open the doors and windows at night to let the mosquitoes fly outdoors, and then close the screen windows and doors to prevent mosquitoes from flying in.

5. Placing a few opened boxes of cooling oil and wind oil in the bedroom can repel mosquitoes.

6. Place one or two pots of mosquito repellent flowers.

7. Orange-red light can repel mosquitoes, or you can directly shine orange-red transparent paper onto the light bulb.
