Breast pain during menstruation

Breast pain during menstruation

Menstruation is a normal physiological reaction closely related to girls. Its main symptom is blood loss. These blood are waste in the body, and excreting them is very beneficial to the body. However, menstruation is also accompanied by many complications, such as headaches, stomachaches, back pains, etc. Some people say that menstruation will also cause swelling and pain. So why do you have chest swelling and pain during menstruation?

Gynecologists say that breast pain and swelling before menstruation, and sometimes the feeling of breast nodules accompanied by pain, is because the breast glands, like the endometrium, will change with the menstrual cycle, with a proliferative period before menstruation and a recovery period after menstruation.

The pre-menstrual proliferative period is 7-10 days before the onset of menstruation. At this time, due to the increase in androgen and progesterone concentrations, hyperfunction of antidiuretic hormone, and increased aldosterone secretion, the mammary ducts dilate, the epithelial cells proliferate and hypertrophy, and the matrix around the mammary ducts edema, causing compression symptoms and pain. At the same time, the immature fibers of the breast increase, lymphocytes infiltrate, and the breasts enlarge, and you will feel breast pain and discomfort. The menstrual recovery period refers to the period after the onset of menstruation, when the secretion of estrogen, progesterone and antidiuretic hormone in the body decreases, the milk ducts become smaller, the epithelial cells atrophy, the immature breast fibers decrease, and the symptoms of breast tenderness disappear.

It can be said that breast pain indicates that menstruation is about to come, but after menstruation is over, the symptoms of breast pain will gradually ease or disappear. Female friends do not need to worry too much about breast pain, it is a normal physiological phenomenon. Once your emotions are affected by your period, breast diseases such as breast hyperplasia and breast tumors will come knocking on your door.
