Unlike men, women have menstruation, which is a normal physiological phenomenon, not a disease! Therefore, parents must tell their children not to be afraid of menstruation during adolescence and must treat it correctly. In life, some women do not have menstruation, which is obviously an abnormal phenomenon. So what is the reason for the absence of menstruation? What are the reasons? Reason 1: Disease It mainly includes wasting diseases, such as severe pulmonary tuberculosis, severe anemia, malnutrition, etc., unique endocrine diseases, such as "obesity reproductive incompetence malnutrition", etc.; the influence of some endocrine system disorders in the body, such as adrenal glands, thyroid glands, pancreas and other dysfunctions. The influence of these reasons may cause menstruation to stop. However, as long as the amenorrhea caused by these conditions is cured, menstruation will return naturally. Reason 2: Closure of the lower reproductive tract For example, there is congenital atresia in some parts of the cervix, vagina, hymen, labia, etc., or adhesive atresia caused by acquired damage. Although menstruation occurs, the menstrual blood cannot flow out. This condition is called hidden or pseudo-amenorrhea. Lower reproductive tract atresia can be completely cured with medical treatment. Reason 3: Improper or poorly developed reproductive organs Some people are born without ovaries, or their ovaries are underdeveloped, or their ovaries are damaged, and they cannot produce estrogen and progesterone. Therefore, the endometrium cannot undergo cyclical changes, and there will be no endometrial shedding, so there will be no menstruation. Some women are born without a uterus, or have endometrial hypoplasia or endometrial damage. Even if their ovaries are functioning well and the secretion of estrogen and progesterone is normal, they will not have menstruation. Cause 4: Tuberculous endometritis This is because tuberculosis bacteria invade the endometrium, causing inflammation of the endometrium and varying degrees of damage, eventually forming scar tissue and causing amenorrhea. Therefore, if you have tuberculous endometritis, you should seek treatment promptly without delay. Reason 5: Abnormal function of the pituitary gland or hypothalamus The pituitary gland can secrete gonadotropin. Gonadotropin regulates ovarian function and maintains menstruation. If the pituitary gland is dysfunctional, it will affect the secretion of gonadotropin, which in turn affects the function of the ovaries. Abnormal ovarian function will cause amenorrhea. In addition, abnormal hypothalamic function can also cause amenorrhea. Causes hypothalamic dysfunction There are many reasons for coldness, such as mental stimulation, sadness and worry, fear and anxiety, tension and fatigue, as well as environmental changes and cold stimulation. Amenorrhea caused by the hypothalamus is more common. |
