The blood test showed no pregnancy, but then I got pregnant

In modern clinical medicine, there are many ways to detect whether a woman is pregnant, but the most accurate method is the blood test. Therefore, when a woman is not sure about her pregnancy through pregnancy test sticks or pregnancy test paper, she will go to the hospital for a blood test to get an accurate result. There are also cases where some women are not found to be pregnant during blood tests, but become pregnant after a while. What is going on?

I didn't get pregnant after having a blood test, but later I got pregnant. What happened?

In fact, this situation does exist. It may be that the test is done too early. Generally, you can do a blood test 9 to 11 days after having sex to get the data. If it is more than ten days, we say that you are definitely pregnant. Sometimes it is because you successfully conceived during your safe period, but it cannot be detected by blood tests yet.

What should you pay attention to before drawing blood?

First, you must not eat too greasy food or high-protein food three days before blood drawing, avoid drinking too much alcohol, and maintain a normal life routine.

Second, you must fast for more than 8 hours the day before blood collection. This is very important. It is best not to eat after 8 o'clock the day before to prevent affecting the examination the next day.

Third, if you have a history of fainting at the thought of blood, please inform us in advance so that special arrangements can be made. On the day of blood collection, blood is required to be collected on an empty stomach before 9 a.m. If it is too late, the blood sugar value will be distorted due to the influence of physiological endocrine hormones in the body, affecting the blood draw result.

Fourth, try to wear loose clothes when having blood drawn to avoid compressing the meridians in your arms.

Fifth, you should relax when drawing blood to avoid vasoconstriction caused by fear, which will increase the difficulty of blood collection and also avoid fainting caused by neurovascular reflex.

Sixth, after drawing blood on site, press the needle hole with a cotton swab or hemostatic tool for more than 3 minutes to stop the bleeding. Due to different individual conditions, the clotting time varies and some people may need longer.

Seventh, do not massage the needle hole to avoid subcutaneous hematoma. If there is a small bruise at the blood draw site and it is slightly painful, please do not panic. You can apply hot compress after 24 hours to promote absorption of the blood bruise. Generally, small amounts of blood stasis will gradually be absorbed and lighten in color within 3 to 5 days and return to normal.
