What causes vulvar ulcers?

Causes:

Vulvar ulcers are mostly caused by vulvar inflammation, such as nonspecific vulvitis, herpes simplex virus infection, Behcet's disease, vulvar tuberculosis, syphilis, and lymphogranuloma venereum. In addition, about 1/3 of vulvar cancers present as ulcers in the early stages. Some people believe that vulvar ulcers are a special development stage of the eye-mouth-genital syndrome.

Herpes simplex virus is the most common cause of vulvar ulcers. This disease is highly contagious through contact, such as sexual transmission, fetal teratogenesis and carcinogenicity in the patient himself, so it has attracted widespread attention.

Chancroid is a disease transmitted by Haemophilus Ducrey through sexual intercourse. It is also a common sexually transmitted disease with ulcerative lesions.

Pathogenesis:

Infectious factors, autoimmune factors, environmental factors, genetic factors, tissue metaplasia or tumors can cause inflammatory reactions in the vulvar skin and subcutaneous tissue, resulting in microcirculation disorders, local ischemia, infarction and tissue ulceration.

It may be a vulvar infection. The most common local cause is increased vaginal discharge, especially vaginitis and nonspecific vaginitis caused by Trichomonas or fungal infection. The large amount of abnormal vaginal discharge irritates the vulva and makes it itchy.

Guidance: It is recommended to seek medical treatment in time and use medication under the guidance of a doctor, generally mainly antibacterial and anti-inflammatory. Pay attention to maintaining good hygiene habits, maintain an acidic environment in the vagina, change underwear frequently, keep the vulva clean and dry, avoid alcohol and spicy food, do not wear tight pants, and wear loose and breathable underwear.

Vulvar itching is a common symptom in gynecological patients, mostly caused by various vulvar lesions, but it can also occur in people with completely normal vulva. Candidal vaginitis and Trichomonas vaginitis are the most common causes of vulvar itching. Lice and scabies can also cause itching. Itching around the anus and vulva of young girls caused by enterobiasis usually only occurs at night. Chronic vulvar malnutrition has severe itching as the main symptom, accompanied by whitening of the vulvar skin. Local allergies are caused by condoms, tampons, sanitary napkins or other drugs, and chemicals. Bad hygiene habits, not paying attention to local cleaning of the vulva, sebum, sweat, menstruation, vaginal secretions, and even urine and feces soaking, long-term stimulation of the vulva can cause itching. It is recommended to go to the hospital for a detailed examination in time, identify the cause, and treat the symptoms. Don't take medicine blindly.
