Bacterial vaginosis is a disease caused by the imbalance of normal flora in the vagina, which is often manifested by increased vaginal discharge with a fishy odor. There is no congestion change in the vagina in bacterial vaginosis. The cause of the disease is often related to lack of attention to personal hygiene, excessive sexual intercourse, and improper contraception. Once bacterial vaginosis is discovered, it should be treated promptly to prevent the condition from worsening and affecting the uterus and ovaries. Treatment of bacterial vaginosis The principle of treatment is to use anti-anaerobic drugs, mainly metronidazole, tinidazole, and clindamycin. Metronidazole inhibits the growth of anaerobic bacteria and does not affect the growth of lactobacilli. It is an ideal therapeutic drug, but it is less effective against mycoplasma. 1. Oral medication The first choice is metronidazole 400 mg, orally twice a day for 7 days; alternative options: tinidazole 2 g, orally, once a day for 3 days; or tinidazole 1 g, orally, once a day for 5 days; or clindamycin 300 mg, twice a day for 7 days. Metronidazole 2 g taken all at once has poor therapeutic effect and is no longer recommended. 2. Local drug treatment Suppository containing metronidazole 200 mg, once every night for 7 consecutive days; or vaginally apply 2% clindamycin ointment, 5 g each time, once every night for 7 consecutive days. Oral medications have similar efficacy to topical medications, with a cure rate of around 80%. 3. Follow-up Patients who are asymptomatic after treatment do not require routine follow-up. Recurrence of bacterial vaginosis is common, and patients should be informed to return for follow-up visits and receive treatment if symptoms persist or recur. An anti-anaerobic drug different from that used in the initial treatment may be chosen, or a vaginal lactobacillus preparation may be tried. Prevention and treatment of bacterial vaginosis: 1. Stop abusing antibiotics If you have a cough, fever, or headache, take antibiotics. Little do people know that antibiotics may inhibit some beneficial bacteria, causing the vaginal epidermal cells that are attached to bacteria to fall off, increasing vaginal secretions and thus leading to this disease. Therefore, antibiotics should be used with caution. 2. Wash your underwear separately Pathogenic bacterial pathogens can multiply in large numbers on the skin surface, in the gastrointestinal tract, inside the nails, and other places. Therefore, underwear must be washed separately, and it is best to soak it in ECU-specific underwear disinfectant for a few minutes. 3. Avoid excessive cleaning Frequent use of pharmaceutical-grade cleansing liquids, disinfected sanitary pads, etc. can easily destroy the weakly acidic environment of the vagina. The weakly acidic environment of the vagina can maintain the self-cleaning function of the vagina. The Ph4 weak acid formula of female care liquid is more suitable for daily cleaning and maintenance. 4. Pay attention to nursing care during pregnancy During pregnancy, sex hormone levels, glycogen and acidity in the vagina increase, making the vagina more susceptible to invasion by pathogenic bacterial pathogens. For pregnant women, oral medications should not be used, but local prevention and auxiliary treatment plans should be selected. 5. Be wary of washing machines Mold is hidden in almost every washing tub! And the more you use the washing machine, the more pathogenic bacteria there are! But don't worry, there is a killer way to deal with mold in the washing machine: use hot water at about 60℃ to clean the washing tub! Clean it regularly with clothing disinfectant! 6. Pay attention to hygiene in public places Public places can harbor a lot of mold. When you are out, do not use the hotel's bathtub, wear long pajamas, put toilet paper on the toilet before using it, etc. At the same time, choose appropriate personal cleaning and care products. Feminine hygiene care wipes are very convenient to carry. 7. Proper contraception The estrogen in birth control pills has the effect of promoting the invasion of pathogenic bacterial pathogens. If it happens repeatedly, try not to use contraceptive medication. 8. Partners and partners If you are infected with nonspecific vaginitis, not only you but also your partner needs treatment, so that the expected therapeutic effect can be achieved. When you use the female care lotion on a daily basis, don't forget to prepare a men's care lotion for him. 9. Wear cotton underwear Tight synthetic underwear will increase the temperature and humidity of the vagina, which is a "living environment" that mold applauds! It is better to choose cotton underwear! 10. Control blood sugar and clean the vulva properly Female diabetics have high vaginal glycogen content. Glycogen ferments to produce alkaline substances, causing the normal vaginal acid value to deviate from 3.5-4.5 to 5.5, destroying the vagina's self-cleaning function and making it easy to be invaded by fungi. Therefore, while controlling blood sugar, you should also pay attention to using a female care solution with a weak acid formula of Ph4 when cleaning the vulva every day. |
