Frequent and painful urination during late pregnancy

Frequent and painful urination during late pregnancy

The physical constitution of pregnant women is very fragile and they are particularly vulnerable to external harm. Such as bacterial infection, virus transmission, etc. Frequent and painful urination during pregnancy is also a difficulty and problem encountered by most mothers. This is caused by not paying attention to hygiene, and part of the reason is due to inflammation in the body. Therefore, during pregnancy, you should pay attention to hygiene, wash your hands and take a bath frequently, eat more foods rich in vitamins, avoid urinary tract infections, and be responsible for your baby and yourself. Let’s take a look at it together below!

1. Urgent, frequent and painful urination in pregnant women are usually symptoms of urinary tract infection. These symptoms may vary in severity in different patients. Patients with acute inflammation often have obvious signs of urinary tract irritation; but in the elderly, children and patients with chronic urinary tract infection, the symptoms of urinary tract irritation are usually mild, such as mild frequent urination, or urgency, or discomfort in urination.

2. How to prevent urinary tract infection during pregnancy

1. Pay attention to hygiene

During pregnancy, you should avoid adverse factors such as fatigue, lack of sleep, and mental depression, and maintain good physical condition. Develop the habit of wiping from front to back after defecation to avoid bringing dirt near the anus into the vulva, and insist on cleaning the vulva once a day. In addition, pregnant women should avoid holding urine.

2. Drink plenty of water

Because of the physiological changes during pregnancy, urine flow may become obstructed. Maintain adequate water intake to increase urine flow, flush the urethra, and make it less likely for bacteria to remain in the urinary tract.

3. Pay attention to your sleeping posture

In the middle and late stages of pregnancy, the enlarged uterus compresses the bilateral ureters when the patient lies in the supine position, causing urine to retain and become susceptible to infection. Taking a side-lying position, especially the left side, can relieve the pressure of the uterus on the ureter, which is not only beneficial for the smooth flow of urine and the prevention of urinary tract infection, but also can increase the blood supply to the fetus.

4. You must pay attention to a reasonable schedule and a regular life. You can eat bananas before going to bed, which have a calming effect.

It is normal for pregnant women to be a little nervous in the late stages of pregnancy. They also think a lot, worrying about this and that, which can lead to insomnia. However, we cannot be too nervous, as this will affect the baby. The later we get, the more we need to maintain a good mood to welcome the arrival of the baby.
