What happens if the follicles are not released?

Many women who are preparing to have children are very concerned about the development and discharge of their own follicles when preparing for pregnancy. Some people with long-term infertility will go to the hospital regularly to monitor the development of follicles. Since only mature follicles are discharged from the body, women can successfully conceive. However, due to various gynecological problems in some women, the follicles of some people may not be discharged from the body normally. So, what happens if the follicle is not discharged?

1. Causes

1. How does the ovary release eggs?

A woman's ovaries are located on both sides of the uterus, one on each side, and they ovulate alternately every month. There are tens of thousands of "little eggs" densely packed in the ovaries, which are follicles (the follicles contain eggs). Before each period, the ovaries will select 3-11 follicles, provide them with sufficient nutrients, and focus on cultivating them. These follicles will grow rapidly, and the ovary will then select a large and round follicle from them to ovulate, which we call the dominant follicle. The task of the dominant follicle is to flush out of the ovary and discharge the egg.

2. Common causes of anovulation

Polycystic ovary, premature ovarian failure and endocrine disorders can all lead to anovulation. The main reason for abnormal ovulation is the decline of ovarian function. Just like your body ages, your ovaries also age with age. Generally speaking, women's ovarian function begins to decline after the age of 25, the secretion of female hormones decreases, and androgens become high. If not maintained in time, problems such as follicles not growing or rupturing will occur.

2. Hazards

1. Follicular cyst

If the follicle does not ovulate, it will form an atretic follicle. It only means that you did not ovulate this month, and it will not have a big impact. If this happens for a long time, your menstrual period will change. You will not get pregnant this month. The atretic follicles will slowly be absorbed and disappear. If the follicles cannot be eliminated, the increase in atretic follicles will become ovarian cysts.

2. Polycystic ovary

Originally, the ovaries only needed to select 3-11 follicles for intensive cultivation, but suddenly 20 or even more squeezed in. The ovaries cannot select a dominant follicle, and a bunch of underdeveloped small follicles are squeezed in the ovaries and continue to grow, neither being discharged nor atrophying. Over time, this can easily lead to ovarian tissue lesions.

3. Infertility

Follicular cysts can easily lead to infertility. Under normal circumstances, women ovulate once a month, but some women have irregular menstrual cycles and cannot ovulate at all. If the follicles are not mature enough, they cannot be discharged, so normal pregnancy is not possible.

Treatment

Each person's situation is different, and the treatment method is also different. Some are suitable for injecting chorionic gonadotropin when the follicles are mature to promote the release of eggs, but the specific treatment method should still be consulted with a doctor.

4. Prevention

1. If you are preparing for pregnancy, it is recommended that you eat more black beans, soybeans, sesame seeds, etc., while reducing the intake of fat and carbohydrates. These foods are suitable for women to maintain their bodies and will play a certain role in promoting ovulation. You can also eat more soybeans and soy products in your daily life, because soybeans contain natural estrogen and can supplement estrogen.
