Cervical cancer stages

Cervical cancer stages

Cancer is a common disease nowadays. Any cancer should be treated promptly after it is discovered. Cervical cancer is a very common cancer and women need various treatments after it occurs. Cervical cancer is divided into different stages according to the different stages of symptoms during the development of the disease. In addition, cervical cancer itself has its own staging. So what is the staging of cervical cancer?

What we usually call cervical cancer is what doctors call cervical cancer clinically, which refers to invasive cancer of the cervix. Other situations, such as early precancerous lesions, are not included here.

That is to say, cervical cancer is mainly divided into four stages, called invasive cervical cancer, which is divided into four stages: one, two, three, and four. Early stage refers to stage one and stage two, and A is called early stage. Stage 2B to stage 4 are all in the late stage of cervical cancer, so stage 1 refers to the lesions of the cervix, which are only limited to the tumor in the cervix.

The first phase is also divided into two types, namely Phase A and Phase B. Stage 1A is a micro-invasive cancer, which means that cervical cancer occurring during this period has a very high cure rate, which can reach 95%. It is more than microinvasive carcinoma, which is called stage 1B. It is also a type of early cervical cancer and can also be treated through surgery. Stage II means that the tumor has grown beyond the cervix, but has not reached the lower 1/3 of the vagina or the pelvic wall. This is stage II.

Stage three means that the cervical cancer tumor has reached the lower 1/3 of the vagina, and has paracervical infiltration to the pelvic wall, which is stage three. Stage IV means that our tumor has grown beyond the true pelvis and invaded nearby organs, such as the rectum and bladder, which is equal to stage IV. Stage 4 is also divided into two parts. Stage 4A refers to the invasion of nearby organs, such as the bladder and rectum, which belongs to Stage 4A. Stage IVB is mainly a distant metastasis, that is, metastasis throughout the body or a distant metastasis.
