What is the best way to treat trichomoniasis?

Trichomonas infection is a common gynecological inflammatory problem in women. We all know that women's special physiological structure can easily lead to the impact and trouble of these diseases, so we should focus on scientific and effective treatment methods, keep the vulva clean and dry during treatment to prevent secondary bacterial infection, and pay attention to avoid eating spicy and irritating foods, and abstain from tobacco and alcohol.

(1) General treatment: During treatment, the vulva should be kept clean to prevent secondary bacterial infection. The vulva should be cleaned daily, and underwear should be changed and disinfected. Do not eat spicy food or drink alcohol during the acute phase. Sexual intercourse is prohibited, and spouses need to be treated together.

(2) Changing the pH of the vagina: The pH suitable for the growth of Trichomonas is 5.5-6. Therefore, flushing the vagina with chlorhexidine acetate solution can lower the pH of the vagina and inhibit the growth of Trichomonas. Take once a day, 10 days as a course of treatment.

(3) Vaginal medication: Apply one tablet of metronidazole vaginal effervescent tablet or metronidazole tablet to the vagina after flushing the vagina every night. One course of treatment is 10 days.

(4) Oral medication: Since Trichomonas not only resides in the vagina, but may also hide in the lower urinary tract, Bartholin's glands and cervical glands, local medication alone cannot provide a therapeutic effect in this case, so oral metronidazole is also required. At the same time, when the man was receiving treatment together, he mainly relied on oral metronidazole. Usage: Take 200 mg of metronidazole three times a day for 7 consecutive days. After taking this medicine, gastrointestinal symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, and anorexia may occur. You can take the medicine after meals instead. If central nervous system symptoms such as mental confusion, dizziness, and headache occur, stop taking the medicine immediately. Topical medications may continue to be used. Tinidazole is a nitroimidazole derivative that has been newly launched in recent years. It has the characteristics of high efficacy, simple medication and few side effects in the treatment of vaginal trichomoniasis. It is taken 1 gram each time, once a day, for 3 consecutive days, and the first dose is doubled. Adverse reactions include: metallic taste in the mouth, nausea, dizziness, headache, fatigue, dark urine, etc. Both metronidazole and metronidazole are contraindicated for pregnant and breastfeeding women.

(5) External washing with Chinese medicine: Using a decoction of Chinese herbal medicine that can clear away heat and toxic substances, kill insects and relieve itching can significantly relieve vulvar inflammation caused by Trichomonas infection, and is especially suitable for acute Trichomonas vaginitis. The combination of traditional Chinese and Western medicine has a very good effect in treating vaginal trichomoniasis.
