What does leucorrhea mean?

Under normal circumstances, women's leucorrhea is colorless, transparent and has no unpleasant odor. Of course, some women do not have good living habits in their daily lives, so they do not pay attention to personal hygiene, or have sex too frequently, resulting in increasingly abnormal leucorrhea. So, what is the relationship between the so-called red and white vaginal discharge and leucorrhea in clinical practice? What does red and white vaginal discharge mean?

What is leucorrhea?

It means that the female vagina secretes yellow, brown, or even red substances, and these colored secretions increase together with the leucorrhea. If you go to the hospital for a check-up, there may be no infection or organic lesion, and taking anti-inflammatory drugs cannot effectively eradicate the disease. Moreover, this symptom is significantly aggravated after fatigue. This abnormal color secretion brings pain and distress to many women.

The inability to find the cause of the disease is caused by people's habitual thinking. Usually people believe that this abnormal leucorrhea phenomenon is a gynecological problem and always look for the cause within the reproductive system. Traditional Chinese medicine believes that the root cause of vaginal discharge may be decreased lung function. When Chinese medicine diagnoses, they will ask the patient in detail about their life, work, family, etc., so as to analyze and infer the cause of the disease. Only by accurately finding the cause can the disease be cured and the uncomfortable symptoms be prevented from developing into chronic gynecological diseases.

Most patients develop vaginal discharge after they start working, which means that the cause should be found in some experiences and habits after work. When women engage in work that requires talking mainly, their lung qi will be depleted. Insufficient lung qi will cause lung function to decline, and people will be more likely to experience symptoms such as shortness of breath, fatigue, thirst, love of drinking water, listlessness, silence, and susceptibility to colds. According to the theory of the Five Elements, normal lung function can promote normal kidney function. If the lung function weakens, the kidney function will also weaken. Therefore, the root cause of leucorrhea is insufficient lung qi, and the kidneys are only affected indirectly. Insufficient lung qi leads to insufficient kidney qi, which is commonly known as kidney deficiency. Kidney deficiency will be reflected in women's leucorrhea, which will increase. At this point, only the amount of vaginal discharge has begun to increase. We know that the human body has its own regulatory mechanism. When the lung qi is insufficient, people will obviously feel a decrease in physical strength and become easily fatigued. The human body instinctively wants to alleviate this crisis by taking in more energy. Therefore, people with insufficient lung qi generally have a good appetite, prefer various meats, like high-calorie foods, and do not like to eat vegetables and fruits. This change in diet is a sign that the body wants to replenish its energy as quickly as possible. However, the amount of supplementation is far greater than the body's actual needs. The excess nutrients become a burden on the digestive system, accumulating in the liver, gallbladder, spleen and other organs to form damp heat, which directly leads to colored secretions in the leucorrhea.

In order to get rid of leucorrhea, improving lung function and replenishing lung qi are the fundamental things. As long as the lung qi is sufficient, people will love to exercise, will not always feel "starved", will no longer greedily eat all kinds of high-calorie foods, and naturally there will be no stagnant dampness and heat in the body. When the lung qi is sufficient, the kidney function will improve accordingly, and those endless and inexplicable gynecological symptoms will disappear.

In reality, many minor illnesses cannot necessarily be cured by taking medicine step by step. Diseases generally develop in two ways. Either the cause cannot be found, and the patient repeats his original work and life habits, causing the minor illness to become a so-called chronic disease, which the patient can only endure on his own; or because of some objective reasons, people inadvertently change their original work and life habits, and the minor illness naturally disappears.
