Is it good to squeeze out the lumps when weaning? How to wean correctly?

Wet milk weaning is a problem that all breastfeeding mothers must face. After the baby is weaned, mothers have to wean their babies. Otherwise, if milk continues to be secreted, it will cause breast engorgement. Severe breast engorgement is not just a problem of swelling and pain, it may also lead to breast diseases. If the breasts are severely swollen during weaning, lumps will appear. It will be very painful when touched. So can you squeeze them with your hands at this time? How should mothers stop breastfeeding correctly?

1. How to stop breastfeeding correctly

1. Natural weaning

(1) After the child reaches one year old, you can gradually reduce the frequency and amount of breast milk the child sucks, or stop letting the child suck breast milk. On the one hand, children should be interested in other foods, and on the other hand, they should not be overly dependent on their mothers. Try to eat when you can, and do a good job of educating your children. Gradually reduce the number of feedings to reduce the stimulation of sucking, and the amount of milk will naturally decrease.

(2) If your breasts become swollen during the weaning process, you can squeeze out a little milk every day. Of course, don’t squeeze too much, just make sure your breasts don’t get too swollen. It is also a gradual process for children. During the weaning process, we should pay more attention to the child's diet. For mothers, the health of the child is our greatest happiness.

2. Food weaning method

(1) Main foods: roasted malt, pepper, raw hawthorn, Shenqu

Rhubarb, Achyranthes bidentata and malt tea: 6 grams of raw rhubarb, 15 grams of Achyranthes bidentata and 50 grams of roasted malt. Take it in two doses, one dose per day.

Maltose: 60g roasted malt, add appropriate amount of brown sugar, put in a pot, add water and boil, remove the residue and drink, once a day, for 1-2 weeks

Wet-reducing porridge: 100 grams of polished rice, 30 grams of roasted malt, 6 grams of Citrus aurantium, and appropriate amount of brown sugar. Cook porridge, one bowl per day, for 5-7 days.

Sichuan pepper and brown sugar soup: 12 grams of Sichuan pepper and 30 grams of brown sugar, boil the soup and drink.

You can't use a breast pump, as the more you pump, the more you produce. There are lumps, but you won't get mastitis.

Maltose: Add 60 grams of roasted malt and appropriate amount of brown sugar to a pot, add water and boil, remove the residue and drink it once a day for 1-2 weeks.

3. Drug weaning

This method can be used for breastfeeding mothers who have abundant milk or want to stop breastfeeding quickly. Generally, you should go to the hospital

Milk-suppressing injections, Chinese and Western medicines, etc.

2. Can I squeeze out the lumps when I am weaning?

When weaning, there will be a process of milk swelling. It is best not to squeeze out the milk during this process. If you keep squeezing the milk, the milk will continue to be secreted. However, if the milk swelling is too severe, you can squeeze it out a little.

3. Precautions for weaning

1. If your breasts are swollen and uncomfortable, you can squeeze out the milk, but don't squeeze it out completely, otherwise it will promote milk secretion and have the opposite effect.

2. During the weaning period, you should pay attention to reducing stimulation to the breasts and nipples. The secretion of prolactin will decrease accordingly, and the secretion of milk will gradually decrease. Never let your baby suck your breast milk or touch it, and avoid using hot water to rinse your breasts when taking a shower.

3. You can use ice packs to cool your breasts to relieve the feeling of swelling.

4. If you find a lump in your breast, rub it with your hands in time to prevent mastitis.

5. When choosing diet during weaning, you should avoid foods that promote milk secretion, such as peanuts, pig's trotters, crucian carp, soups, etc., and eat less protein-rich foods, which can reduce milk secretion.
