Methods of contraception for hydatidiform mole

Methods of contraception for hydatidiform mole

Speaking of hydatidiform mole, it is an abnormal pregnancy and is also harmful to human health. Of course, it is just a benign lesion of trophoblastic cells and rarely becomes malignant. However, because it occurs in the uterus of female friends, it has received a lot of attention for the health of the next generation. Once it is confirmed that it is a hydatidiform mole, it must be removed from the body and a uterine curettage must be performed. After the operation, contraception must be used. Let's talk about the methods of uterine curettage and contraception for hydatidiform mole.

1. Condom contraception is the preferred method of contraception. After hydatidiform mole surgery, the patient's endometrium needs a certain degree of recovery, and pregnancy again will affect the recovery. Choosing condoms for contraception can effectively keep the uterine cavity clean, prevent the spread of syphilis, gonorrhea, etc., keep the patient's uterine cavity in a good environment for growth, and promote the expulsion of hydatidiform mole.

2. Oral contraceptives can effectively prevent patients from getting pregnant again, and can promote patients to slowly release estrogen and progesterone, maintain a certain level of balance in the body, maintain a regularity of women's menstruation, and can effectively relieve premenstrual abdominal distension, stomach pain and other phenomena, and can also improve women's health level. However, taking contraceptives also has certain side effects, and oral contraceptives can delay the degeneration of residual hydatidiform mole trophoblast cells, so they should not be used blindly.

3. Although intrauterine contraceptive placement can also have a certain contraceptive effect and avoid the trouble of taking oral medication every time, the placement of an intrauterine contraceptive device has certain risks, and the shedding of the pregnancy ring can easily cause endometrial rupture and perforation, which can sometimes cause malignant changes, and the bleeding makes it difficult to distinguish the root cause.

Note:

Strict contraception should be implemented one year after the operation for hydatidiform mole, and appropriate contraceptive measures should be taken. Follow-up should be carried out within one year after the evacuation of hydatidiform mole. The patient should lead a regular life and get enough sleep after the operation. It is not advisable to scrape the uterus cleanly at one time for hydatidiform mole. Curettage should be performed again after one week. Sexual intercourse and bathing in a tub are prohibited for one month after each curettage to prevent infection.
