What to do if you have pain from a cesarean scar

The biggest difference between a cesarean section and a natural birth is the order of pain. A natural birth hurts during birth, but a cesarean section hurts after waking up from anesthesia. The pain from the wound is no less than that of a natural birth. Looking at your 10-centimeter wound through the gauze, even if you can't see it, you can imagine what the wound looks like. So when the anesthesia gradually wears off and the sensation in the lower body returns, what should you do when faced with the pain from the cesarean section scar? Let's learn about it below.

Ways to relieve pain:

1. After the operation, it is best to adopt a slightly bent side-lying position, which can reduce the pain caused by abdominal wall tension. If a woman is afraid of the pain that will come after the anesthesia wears off after surgery, she can ask the anesthesiologist to add an analgesic pump.

2. Change the dressing frequently, keep the wound and its surroundings dry and clean, and remove sweat in time to avoid pain caused by sweat irritation. After being discharged from the hospital, protect the wound well and do not tear off the scar too early or privately, as this can easily cause wound pain.

3. Maintain a proper nutritional balance after surgery. Eat more vegetables and fruits, lean meat, soy products and other foods rich in vitamins and minerals.

4. If the incision becomes itchy and painful, you can use some medications under the guidance of a doctor to relieve the pain or itching. After the stitches are removed, avoid excessive abdominal pressure and overstretching of the body.

Note:

1. 42 days after caesarean section, the new mother must go to the hospital for a follow-up visit. In addition, reduce sweating. When the body sweats, the scars will be soaked in sweat, and the salt in the sweat will stimulate the nerve endings of the scars, causing pain and itching. Weather changes can cause changes in temperature and wetness of the air, and the nerve endings in the scars can sense them keenly, causing pain and itching.

2. After a caesarean section, women should pay attention to changes in their wounds. If severe pain, exudation, pus discharge, etc. occur, they must go to the hospital for examination and treatment in time.
