How to treat breast inflammation?

Mastitis refers to an acute suppurative infection of the breast. It is most common in women who are breastfeeding, especially new mothers who are breastfeeding for the first time. At this time, improper feeding or improper conditioning often causes mastitis. This is more harmful to new mothers, often causing swelling and pain, and is not conducive to feeding the baby. Massage, hot compresses, and diet therapy can be used to promote the disappearance of inflammation. In severe cases, seek medical attention in time.

1. Massage:

Lie flat on your back and apply olive oil. Gently pull the nipple several times, hold up the breast with one hand, separate the thumb and the other four fingers of the other hand, bend the five fingers, and push the tip of the thumb in a spiral shape from the base of the nipple along the direction of the milk duct toward the areola. Use the index finger of the other hand to cooperate with the opposite areola to help the milk discharge.

Note: When massaging, the focus of the thumb is to push forward, not press down. Be gentle with your hands to avoid touching the breasts which may increase pain. Depending on the condition, 1-3 times a day, 30 minutes each time, 15 minutes on each side.

2. Diet therapy:

(1) Stew 1 pig’s trotter and 25 grams of day lily, and eat without adding any seasoning, once a day. Used for early stage mastitis before pus formation.

(2) 1 baby pigeon, 30 grams of astragalus, and 30 grams of wolfberry. Wash the baby pigeon, wrap the astragalus and wolfberry in gauze and stew them with the baby pigeon. After they are cooked, remove the residue and eat the pigeon meat and drink the soup. Used in the recovery period after mastitis rupture.

(3) 100 grams of polished japonica rice and 50 grams of dandelion. Boil dandelion in water to extract the juice, add rice to cook porridge, and take it in divided doses daily. It is used for patients with mastitis who have not yet recovered from the pus and fever after the pus has been cleared.
