How is Trichomonas vulvitis acquired?

How is Trichomonas vulvitis acquired?

The main pathogen causing trichomoniasis vulvitis is Trichomonas. There are many ways to be infected, such as swimming pools, daily necessities, sexual intercourse, etc. Some patients also suffer from decreased resistance after childbirth or abortion, so it can be prevented from many aspects. Generally, when trichomoniasis vulvitis occurs, symptoms such as redness, swelling and itching will appear in the vulva area.

1. Decreased resistance after childbirth or abortion

The pathogen ascends through the reproductive tract and spreads to the fallopian tubes, ovaries, and then the entire pelvic cavity, causing inflammation.

2. Mixed Infection

The causes of trichomoniasis vulvitis include various stimulations, which often cause mixed infections. The causative bacteria are often Staphylococcus, Streptococcus, and Escherichia coli.

3. Not paying attention to menstrual hygiene

Sexual intercourse during menstruation or unclean sexual intercourse, etc. While intrauterine contraceptive devices are widely used, they are caused by patients not paying attention to personal hygiene or not performing the surgical procedure strictly.

4. Vaginal discharge irritation

The causes of Trichomonas vulvitis also include increased vaginal secretions or stimulation from menstrual blood or menstrual pads. Especially in cases of cervicitis and various vaginitis, the secretions increase and flow to the vulva, which can cause vulvitis to varying degrees.

5. Other Stimuli

For example: diabetic patients are directly stimulated by sugary urine; patients with frequent urination are soaked in urine for a long time; patients with fecal fistula are stimulated by feces when they have diarrhea or loose stools; intestinal pinworms, etc.
