What causes urinary incontinence in women? These are the main reasons!

Urinary incontinence is a common urinary system disease. People of all ages may suffer from this disease, but the elderly are more likely to suffer from it. Urinary incontinence is a common phenomenon, so many elderly people think it is a normal result of aging. In fact, there are many reasons that lead to urinary incontinence in women, which may be some mental factors or disease causes.

1. Mental factors.

Due to work stress, high pressure, anxiety or neurotic bladder, the bladder muscles react allergicly and cannot inhibit bladder contraction, causing urinary incontinence.

2. Production damage.

Multiple births, urethral prolapse, uterine prolapse, etc. This is because during childbirth, the pelvic muscles are damaged to varying degrees, and the ability to support some organs in the pelvic cavity is reduced, which can also lead to stress urinary incontinence. Clinically, it is found that the incidence of urinary incontinence in vaginal deliveries is higher than that in cesarean sections.

3. After menopause, women's estrogen levels decrease, causing the urethral mucosa to become thinner and its tension to decrease.

4. As you get older, abdominal fat accumulates and increased abdominal pressure creates greater pressure on the bladder.

5. Racial factors: A large-scale survey shows that Asians have a higher rate of urinary incontinence than Europeans.

6. Surgical injury directly damages the pelvic floor muscles and nerves

For example, surgery for cerebral cortical diseases (stroke, dementia, etc.) that damage the urethral sphincter or pelvic nerves.

7. If there is a problem with the human urinary organs

Symptoms such as frequent urination, urgent urination, painful urination, and urinary incontinence will occur. Urethritis, cystitis, pyelonephritis, etc. can cause urinary incontinence. Pus cells or a large number of white blood cells can be found under the urine microscope. In severe cases, there are symptoms of systemic infection and poisoning.

8. If you have frequent urination and a large amount of urine each time

If there are no other symptoms, the first thing to pay attention to is whether they drink too much water, especially children who like sugary water are prone to urinary incontinence.

9. Frequent urination with large urine volume

If you are thirsty, drink a lot, and lose weight, you should check your urine. If the urine contains sugar, you should consider diabetes. If there is no sugar in the urine but the specific gravity is low, you should think of diabetes insipidus.
