What are the symptoms of endometritis?

Uterine inflammation is extremely harmful to women's health and can almost be life-threatening. Therefore, women who suffer from this disease are very worried about the worsening of their physical lesions. The endometrium is the main site of inflammation and is the place most affected by the disease. Let’s take a look at the symptoms of endometritis.

1. Abdominal discomfort in the early stages of endometritis

Patients with early-stage endometritis generally do not experience abdominal pain, but they will feel abdominal discomfort. In the late stage of endometritis, patients will experience obvious abdominal pain. In the case of secondary infection and pus accumulation in the uterine cavity, spasmodic abdominal pain will occur.

2. Irregular menstruation will occur in the early stages of endometritis

As endometritis progresses, the inflammation can spread to the myometrium and become myometritis, in which many small pus masses will form. If the inflammation expands outward, it may cause pelvic inflammatory disease. During examination, it will be found that the uterus is tender and enlarged, and the tissues on both sides will be tender and thickened.

3. Vaginal postmenopausal bleeding may occur in the early stages of endometritis

Postmenopausal bleeding or irregular vaginal bleeding is a typical symptom of endometritis. This symptom occurs in the early stages. The initial bleeding is only a small amount of intermittent bleeding. The amount of bleeding is generally less than the previous menstrual bleeding. Sometimes it is very little, and only a small amount of blood will be found on the underwear. The intervals vary from a few days to a few weeks. This is an early symptom. If the amount of bleeding is very heavy and exceeds the previous menstrual amount and the bleeding continues, it may even cause anemia. Women who have not reached menopause may experience bleeding between periods, prolonged menstruation, increased menstrual flow, or completely irregular bleeding. This may be a late stage.
