From a clinical perspective, the symptoms of chronic endometritis include pelvic pain, increased leucorrhea, menorrhagia, dysmenorrhea, etc. If it is senile chronic endometritis, there will be purulent leucorrhea accompanied by a small amount of blood, etc., as well as some unpleasant odors, which are often mistaken for malignant uterine lesions. In this case, you must not put too much pressure on yourself. Going to the hospital for a check-up is the best option. (1) Pelvic pain: About 40% of patients complain of lower abdominal distension and pain and lumbar pain during the menstrual interval. (ii) Increased leucorrhea: This is caused by increased secretion of endometrial glands and is generally thin, watery, light yellow, and sometimes bloody. (III) Menorrhagia: Menstrual periods remain regular, but the menstrual volume doubles and the bleeding period is significantly prolonged. Only a very small number of patients develop anemia due to heavy bleeding, which may be caused by endometrial thickening and inflammatory congestion. Irregular bleeding is rare and may last for several hours or 1 to 2 days before stopping. (IV) Dysmenorrhea: It occurs more often in nulliparous women, but severe dysmenorrhea is rare. It may be caused by excessive thickening of the endometrium, which hinders the normal degeneration and necrosis of tissues and stimulates excessive spasmodic contractions of the uterus. Senile endometritis is often accompanied by atrophic vaginitis and the appearance of purulent leucorrhea, which often contains a small amount of blood and is often easily mistaken for uterine malignancy. When pyometra occurs, the secretions are purulent and have a foul odor. In addition to dull abdominal pain, the patient may have symptoms of systemic inflammatory response, but there are also asymptomatic patients. Signs: For patients with mild inflammation, no abnormalities may be found during bimanual examination, so it is often diagnosed as dysfunctional uterine bleeding clinically. Someone performed pathological tissue examination on 1,000 patients with dysfunctional uterine bleeding and found that 11% had endometritis. If there is pyometra, the uterus will be enlarged and soft in a spherical shape, and you may even feel a lump and tenderness in the midline above the pubic symphysis. If secretions can be discharged intermittently through the cervical canal, bloody pus with a foul odor may be seen during speculum examination. Acute vaginitis often coexists. |
