What are the dangers of endometriosis?

Endometriosis is a common gynecological disease that is very harmful. Common symptoms include dysmenorrhea, menorrhagia, and even infertility. Therefore, you must actively prevent this disease, prevent retrograde menstruation, take oral contraceptives, avoid multiple intrauterine surgeries, etc. In addition, do not stay up late often and do not eat spicy and irritating foods.

1. What are the dangers of endometriosis?

1. Dysmenorrhea: It is the main symptom of endometriosis, occurring in about 80% of patients. Most patients present with secondary dysmenorrhea with progressive worsening. As the disease progresses, the pain may begin about 1 week before menstruation, or may extend to 1 to 2 weeks after menstruation. As the disease progresses, the symptoms of dysmenorrhea will become more and more severe. In severe cases, taking painkillers cannot effectively relieve the pain symptoms.

2. Excessive menstruation: It is another major symptom of endometriosis and often leads to anemia. This is often the first symptom of endometriosis, usually manifested as increased menstrual blood flow, prolonged menstrual period, or frequent menstruation.

3. Infertility: Ectopic endometrial tissue will cause adhesions in the pelvic cavity and often block the fallopian tubes, causing them to not work properly and making it difficult to conceive, thus leading to female infertility.

2. Prevention of endometriosis

1. Prevent menstrual blood from flowing backwards

Timely detection and treatment of diseases that cause menstrual retention, such as congenital genital tract acute, occlusion, stenosis and secondary cervical adhesions, vaginal stenosis, etc. These diseases can easily cause menstrual backflow and affect uterine health.

2. Oral contraceptives

Oral contraceptives can inhibit ovulation, induce endometrial atrophy, and effectively reduce the risk of endometriosis. Those with a high family history of pregnancy and those who are prone to pregnancy with an IUD can choose this method.

3. Avoid multiple intrauterine surgeries

Women should try to avoid multiple intrauterine surgeries to prevent iatrogenic ectopic endometrial implantation. Do a good job of contraception and avoid multiple abortions. If you want to undergo intrauterine surgery, you need to go to a regular hospital to ensure proper pre- and post-operative care to avoid improper surgical operations, improper wound suturing or cleaning.
