Symptoms of female vulvar itching

1. The symptoms of vulvitis mainly include itching, pain or burning sensation of the vulva, which worsens when walking, working, riding a bicycle, having sexual intercourse and urinating. The vulva skin is red and swollen with increased exudate, scratches, and sometimes ulcers. The skin is broken or there are patches of blisters, papules, and eczema. After a long course of the disease, the skin becomes thickened and rough, the color changes, and even skin cracking occurs. There is also often an increase in vaginal discharge, which is yellow and pus-like.

2. Vulvitis may cause local pain, itching, or fever, secretions, ulcers, tenderness in the vulva, etc. The patient has no desire or interest in sexual life, is very afraid of the male's sexual demands, has no pleasure in sexual intercourse, and is difficult to orgasm. When suffering from acute vulvitis, sexual intercourse will aggravate the patient's pain, promote the spread of inflammation or cause secondary infection, making the inflammation more protracted and difficult to treat.

Precautions for vulvar itching after menstruation

1. Sexual intercourse is prohibited during treatment, or condoms should be used to prevent cross infection. Vaginal medication and sitz baths should be avoided during menstruation. Women with recurrent episodes should check their husband's urine and prostatic fluid, and repeat the tests if necessary. If positive, both should be treated together.

2. Pay attention to personal hygiene and keep the vulva clean and dry; wash and change underwear frequently, do not share bath towels or bathtubs with others, do not wear underwear made of nylon or similar fabrics, and bath towels and underwear used during illness should be boiled and disinfected.

3. Pay attention to menstrual hygiene, change menstrual pads frequently during menstruation, and wash them frequently; keep the vulva clean and dry, do not use hot water to wash, and do not use soap to scrub.
