Normal values of inhibin b in women

Normal values of inhibin b in women

Female inhibin b is closely related to female reproductive ability and is secreted by cells of the reproductive system. At the same time, the level of inhibin b in women of different ages is different. In addition, the clinical detection value of inhibin b in women is also affected by factors such as reagents and detection methods. Of course, no matter what detection method is used, as long as it can be determined that the value is within the normal range, it will be fine. So what is the normal value of inhibin b in women?

Inhibin B is a hormone secreted by cells of the reproductive system and is closely related to reproductive ability.

The normal reference values are different for patients of different ages, genders, different detection methods, and different reagents. Inhibin B is secreted by cells of the reproductive system and is closely related to reproductive ability. It has endocrine, paracrine, and autocrine regulatory effects on reproductive function.

Inhibin B is a glycoprotein hormone derived from the testis. The serum inhibin B level in adult males is significantly negatively correlated with FSH, and has a negative feedback effect on FSH. Soon after male birth, serum inhibin B levels gradually increase and reach adult levels during puberty II. From puberty III to adulthood, a negative correlation is maintained between inhibin B and FSH. At the age of 20-30, inhibin B levels reach another peak, and then inhibin B levels gradually decrease with age.

The serum inhibin B level in men with poor spermatogenesis and spermatogenesis block was significantly lower than that in men with normal spermatogenesis. Only in men with Sertoli cell syndrome (SCO) the serum inhibin B level was extremely low. The occurrence of SCO was significantly correlated with the serum inhibin B level, and the serum inhibin B level was also significantly correlated with testicular volume and total sperm count. The level of inhibin B reflects the function of the entire testicular tissue and is a direct product of the vas deferens. Maintaining detectable levels of inhibin B in adult male serum requires the presence of spermatogenic cells, so inhibin B is considered a serum marker for male spermatogenesis.

Serum inhibin B determination can be used to evaluate the spermatogenesis function of male infertile patients, diagnose cryptorchidism and precocious puberty in children, predict testicular sperm aspiration in patients with non-obstructive azoospermia, and monitor the damage of radiotherapy and chemotherapy to male spermatogenesis.
