Sudden bleeding 15 days after hysterectomy

During hysterectomy surgery, four pairs of tendons, including the round ligament of the uterus, the platysma tendon of the uterus, and the aortosacral tendon, are removed. The vagina is then incised in a circular shape around the cervix. After the uterus is removed, the ends of the vagina are surgically sutured together, leaving a wound at the ends of the vagina. Let’s discuss what to do if you suddenly bleed 15 days after a hysterectomy.

Hysterectomy is a surgical treatment for bleeding. It is abnormal and may be an infection. In other words, it is related to surgical treatment. You need to go to the hospital for a follow-up visit as soon as possible and actively adopt treatment measures after the actual cause. If it is an infection, there will be risks.

After a vaginal hysterectomy, there will generally be bleeding for about a week. If the bleeding lasts for a long time or is heavy, you need to go to the hospital to check if there is a possibility of infection. However, you have a history of diabetes. Diabetics generally have slower wound healing and are very prone to wound infection. If rest can reduce bleeding, try to stay in bed as much as possible. After all, recovery takes a process. Go to the hospital for a follow-up visit one month after hysterectomy to see how the vaginal remnant has recovered.

After a total hysterectomy, a small amount of non-menstrual bleeding or pink discharge may occur in the vagina and last for several months. 10-20 days after the operation, the sutures in the vaginal incision begin to dissolve and absorb. If the wound heals poorly, bleeding may occur, or even wound dehiscence. If the bleeding is more than the menstrual volume, you should go to the hospital for physical examination and treatment immediately.

After total hysterectomy, you should eat more protein and fish to prevent infection and promote early healing of the wound.

A small amount of vaginal bleeding occurs after a total hysterectomy. Generally speaking, absorbable sutures are used in surgical sutures of vaginal stumps. A small amount of pink secretion will appear when the sutures fade 15-30 days after the operation. Don't worry, but you can't have sex or do physical work. Be sure to get enough rest.
