Is it normal to have no leucorrhea?

The amount of normal vaginal discharge in women is generally related to physiological phenomena such as the menstrual cycle and sexual life. If the amount of leucorrhea is significantly reduced or absent, vaginal dryness, loss of libido, and discomfort or difficulty in sexual intercourse may occur. Generally speaking, too little vaginal discharge is caused by ovarian dysfunction or decline, and low levels of sex hormones. Women with too little vaginal discharge need to actively cooperate with treatment, and should also pay more attention to supplementing protein, vitamins, etc. to enhance hormone secretion.

1. Leucorrhea is a mixture of Bartholin's gland secretions, vaginal mucosal exudates, cervical glands and endometrial gland secretions, and contains vaginal epithelial exfoliated cells, white blood cells and some non-pathogenic bacteria. Under healthy conditions, leucorrhea is white mucus or raw egg white-like, small in amount, and has no odor. It can keep the vagina moist for a long time and help maintain vaginal health. It is called physiological leucorrhea.

2. Under normal circumstances, the quality and quantity of vaginal discharge change with the menstrual cycle. After the menstruation is over, the vaginal discharge is small in volume, white in color, and paste-like. In the middle of the menstrual cycle when the ovaries are about to ovulate, due to the vigorous secretion of the cervical glands, the leucorrhea increases and becomes transparent and slightly sticky like raw egg white. 2 to 3 days after ovulation, vaginal discharge becomes turbid, thick and less in quantity. Before and after menstruation, due to pelvic congestion, vaginal mucosal exudate increases and leucorrhea often increases.

We would like to remind everyone that clinically, most women with abnormal leucorrhea are caused by not paying attention to personal hygiene. Normal people can just clean the vulva with clean water. If you don't have any gynecological diseases, it's best not to use feminine wash too much. It is reported that the risk of pelvic infection in women who use vaginal douches is 73% higher than that in women who do not. The main reason is that the douches used destroy the self-cleaning function of the vagina, allowing pathogens to enter.
