What is the difference between breast tissue and a lump?

In recent years, female breast diseases have been on the rise. Most of the breast tissue is fat, and sometimes there is a certain confusion between breast tissue and lumps. As an individual, you can conduct certain examinations, such as touching to see if there is a lump inside. Of course, for further diagnosis, you need to go to the hospital for some pathological examinations in time to avoid harm to your health.

① There is no pathological mass in the breast, or the mass is only other non-breast lesions within the breast, such as subcutaneous lipoma or certain lesions of the ribs (such as costochondritis)

② It is not immediately possible to confirm whether there is a lump in the breast, or whether the so-called lump is physiological breast hyperplasia or a pathological lump;

③ There is indeed some kind of lesion in the breast, but except for some advanced breast cancers, it cannot be confirmed whether it is a benign or malignant lesion.

If the breast lump is in non-breast tissue within the breast, such as a subcutaneous lipoma, a deep costochondroma, or a lymph node near the armpit, the patient should be fully explained to eliminate her doubts and the non-breast lesion should be treated accordingly, such as removing the subcutaneous lipoma, biopsy of the lymph nodes, or referring to other specialists for further examination. If the above treatment still cannot eliminate the patient's doubts, further breast B-ultrasound examination or X-ray film should be performed. If the examination result is still negative, it will not only add a guarantee to the diagnosis, but also further eliminate the patient's doubts.

Normal breasts are lumpy to varying degrees, and the texture of each part is different, so it is difficult to confirm whether there is a real abnormal lump during the initial diagnosis. Patients with suspicious masses should be reviewed regularly.
