What are the symptoms of breast cancer recurrence?

Breast cancer is a type of tumor with a relatively high recurrence rate. Once it recurs, it will seriously trouble the patient. Metastasis is particularly prone to occur. Within 1 to 2 years after breast cancer surgery, the probability of recurrence is also relatively high. The most common is metastasis. At this time, patients are prone to chest tightness, shortness of breath, blood in sputum and other symptoms. In addition, bone metastasis is prone to occur, and the most common is lung metastasis and other symptoms.

1. Symptoms of different metastatic sites

When breast cancer recurs, metastasis will occur. At this time, lung metastasis is a common symptom of patients. They will have cough, coughing up blood, chest pain, shortness of breath, etc. These are also early symptoms of breast cancer recurrence. At this time, chest X-ray examination is the most common method. For breast cancer patients to prevent recurrence, it is recommended to check once every six months to one year so that timely detection can be made.

2. Common sites of recurrence and metastasis

When breast cancer recurs, metastatic symptoms will appear. In addition to local chest wall recurrence and lymph node metastasis, there will also be symptoms occurring in tissues and organs with rich blood circulation, often the lungs, bones, liver, soft tissues, brain, etc. These parts will have many symptoms. Data show that 60 to 80 percent have lung metastasis, 50 to 60 percent have liver metastasis, and another 50 percent have bone metastasis. Generally, recurrence and metastasis are most common within 2 years after surgery. The chance of recurrence and metastasis gradually decreases with the extension of time after surgery. However, lifelong follow-up is required after breast cancer surgery. The purpose is very simple, which is to prevent recurrence.

3. Other symptoms of relapse

Breast cancer recurrence may also cause bone metastasis. Bone metastasis is often located in the spine, pelvis and femur of the thigh. At this time, there will be gradually increasing localized pain. Localized symptom may also be tenderness, but no lump can be felt. In addition, the symptoms of brain metastasis are headache, nausea, vomiting, blurred vision and other symptoms.

When facing breast cancer, what patients actually need to maintain is a good attitude. Although everyone is afraid of the disease, breast cancer is not scary. Once breast cancer recurs or metastasizes, what must be done is to discover it in time. This requires everyone to actively understand the symptoms so that it can be discovered in time and then treated early.
