Does retroverted uterus need treatment? What are the treatments?

How to treat retroverted uterus? This is a question that many women with retroverted uterus consider, because the uterus is the carrier of the baby. If it is not treated in time, it is easy to cause symptoms of infertility, which is a big blow to women. So is it necessary to treat retroverted uterus? What are some good treatments? This article will introduce you to the treatment of retroverted uterus.

Mild retroverted uterus usually causes no symptoms and does not require treatment. For patients with severe retroverted uterus and symptoms, the key to treatment is to reposition the uterus. Commonly used methods of uterine reduction include bimanual reduction method, triple-manual reduction method, cervical clamp traction reduction method, chest-knee supine position reduction method, and surgical reduction method. After manual reduction, the patient is required to do chest-knee position exercises 1-2 times a day after emptying the bowels and bladder, each time for 10-15 minutes. This is crucial to consolidate the effect of uterine reduction. Chest-knee position exercises can also prevent the occurrence of posterior displacement of the uterus after delivery, but they must be performed half a month after delivery. If manual reduction is unsuccessful, surgical reduction can be used. The surgical method is mainly to shorten the round ligament and change the uterus into an anteverted and anteflexed position.

A retroverted uterus generally does not affect the couple's sex life, but it may affect pregnancy. Therefore, if a woman plans to conceive, she can change her body position during intercourse and kneel on her back so that the semen can be ejaculated into the anterior fornix of the vagina, close to the cervix, and try to create conditions for the sperm to enter the uterus. Or she can adopt a normal body position during intercourse. After intercourse, the woman can immediately turn into a prone position, put a pillow under her abdomen, and lie still for 30 minutes so that the sperm can enter the cervix smoothly. These methods can increase the pregnancy rate of retroverted uterus.

Retroverted uterus can be actively corrected. Insist on lying on your side, back, or kneeling 2-3 times a day, each time for half an hour, to give the uterus a chance to lean forward and flex. During menstruation, you should also lie prone once a day because the uterus is slightly softer, which helps it to tilt forward. If the retroverted uterus is more serious, you should often do the knee-chest position, that is, kneel perpendicular to the ground, and your waist should be bent downward instead of arched upward, for about 15 minutes each time. You can also do the following exercises to correct a retroverted uterus:

1. Prone exercise: Raise both lower limbs straight backwards alternately while lifting both lower limbs at the same time.

2. Elbow-knee position (elbows and knees on the ground) exercise: Lie prone with the chest forward and downward, stretch the lower limbs backward and upward alternately, crawl forward and backward alternately with the knees, support the body with the toes, straighten the knees, and raise the hips.

3. Hand-knee position (hands and knees on the ground) exercise: straighten the lower limbs alternately and move in all directions, bend the elbows, and bend the chest forward and down to the ground. Raise the right upper limb and left lower limb at the same time, raise the left upper limb and right lower limb at the same time, support the body with the toes, straighten the knees, and raise the hips.

4. Hand-foot position (hands and feet on the ground) exercise: sit back on the heels, then return to the original position, and bend the knees forward alternately with both lower limbs.

5. Kneeling exercise: Kneel with the body upright. Raise both arms and then bend the body forward while keeping the arms straight and the hands on the ground.

The cause of retroverted uterus is often related to sleeping posture. Women who have had a miscarriage or sleep in their supine position for a long time are prone to retroverted uterus. If these women insist on sleeping in the prone position or the chest-knee side-lying position for a long time, the position of the uterus can be corrected. This method can be cured without special treatment, and the rectal irritation symptoms caused by the retroverted uterus can completely disappear.
