What to do if the endometrium is thick after menopause

When women stop menstruating after menopause, it often leads to endometrial thickening, which is very harmful to women's health. They must go to the hospital for treatment in time. There are many treatment methods, such as surgical treatment, drug treatment, and traditional Chinese medicine treatment, etc. You can take corresponding symptomatic treatment methods according to the specific symptoms and the patient's specific constitution.

1. Surgical treatment

Although curettage and aspiration is an important method for diagnosing this disease, it is also one of the treatments. Because the patient's lesions are likely to be cleared during the curettage process. For patients over 40 who have no fertility requirements, the hysterectomy can be performed directly after diagnosis. However, if the patient suffers from diabetes and hypertension, medication should be given first with close follow-up. If drug treatment is ineffective for young patients, hysterectomy can be considered.

2. Drug treatment

First, the patient is given clomiphene, a drug that promotes ovulation, and whether the medication period should be extended is determined based on the patient's condition. Then treatment will be carried out according to the severity and type of the disease. If it is mild atypical hyperplasia, intramuscular injection of progesterone is required. Patients with moderate to severe atypical hyperplasia need to use medroxyprogesterone continuously, with a course of treatment of 3 months. After each course of treatment, the patient needs to undergo a curettage or removal of endometrial tissue for examination.

3. Traditional Chinese medicine treatment

In addition, diseases such as endometrial thickening can also be treated through traditional Chinese medicine. Because traditional Chinese medicine still has certain advantages and characteristics in the treatment of gynecological diseases, and the side effects on patients are very small or even no side effects. In addition, Chinese medicine will adopt different treatment methods according to the patient's constitution and cause of the disease, and use the method of taking advantage of the situation to adjust the menstrual cycle so as to achieve the purpose of restoring ovulation.
