What does a pregnancy test check?

Prenatal check-ups are very important, as they help to maintain the health of the fetus and pregnant women. There are many items to check, including liver function, blood routine, chromosome examination and six sex hormone tests, which are all necessary. Only after passing these good examinations can the healthy development of the fetus be guaranteed. At the same time, it can also prevent some diseases and help with conditioning during pregnancy.

Pregnancy test items

Routine blood test: information related to safe pregnancy can be analyzed using routine blood test. White blood cell count, hemoglobin value and potential infection, whether there is anemia and thalassemia, etc. Urinalysis: After a woman becomes pregnant, the burden on her kidneys will increase, and in severe cases, it may cause renal failure. A routine urine test can help diagnose kidney disease.

Liver function can screen out various types of hepatitis and liver diseases. If viral hepatitis is not detected in time, it can be transmitted to the fetus, causing stillbirth or premature birth. Gynecological B-ultrasound: B-ultrasound can understand the development of the uterus and ovaries, determine whether there is uterine fibroids, uterine malformations or adenomyosis, confirm whether there is a tumor or water accumulation in the fallopian tube or whether there is a tumor in the ovary.

Chromosome testing can screen for genetic diseases as early as possible and detect genetic diseases such as Klinefelter's syndrome and Turner syndrome. A cervical smear test can screen for fungal infections, mycoplasma and chlamydia infections, trichomoniasis and other vaginal inflammations, all of which may cause miscarriage or premature birth of the fetus in the womb.

Six items of sex hormones: If you have irregular menstruation before pregnancy, you should undergo a six-item sex hormone test. The six items mentioned here mainly include luteinizing hormone, estrogen and progesterone, prolactin, follicle maturation hormone and androgen, which can detect factors such as miscarriage, infertility and irregular menstruation.
