TCM treatment of amenorrhea

If a woman has pathological amenorrhea, she should go to the hospital for examination and diagnosis in time. This will have a great impact on her health. Traditional Chinese medicine is quite good at treating this. Traditional Chinese medicine can divide the causes of amenorrhea into cold stagnation in the meridians, phlegm and dampness blockage, and qi stagnation and blood deficiency. Different Chinese medicines can be used to treat the symptoms according to different manifestations.

① Cold stagnation in meridians causes amenorrhea for several months, cold pain in the lower abdomen, which is relieved by warmth, cold limbs and fear of cold, loose stools, excessive leucorrhea, white tongue coating, and deep and tight or slow pulse. The treatment should be to warm the meridians and dispel cold, dredge the menstruation and activate blood circulation. You can choose Ai Fu Nuan Gong Wan, which is composed of mugwort leaves, cyperus rotundus, Evodia rutaecarpa, cinnamon, angelica, Chuanxiong, white peony root, rehmannia root, astragalus, and Chuanduan. It has the functions of warming the uterus, dispelling cold, regulating qi and nourishing blood. Usage: Take 1 pill (9 grams) orally twice a day. Other options include Twelve Meridians Warming Pills, Warming Palace Pregnancy Pills, etc.

② Phlegm-dampness blocks menstruation, causing it to gradually decrease and not come for several months. The patient is obese, has chest tightness and abdominal distension, or feels dizzy and drowsy, or has multi-colored white discharge, white tongue coating, and a slippery pulse. The treatment is suitable for drying dampness and removing phlegm, promoting blood circulation and dredging menstruation. You can choose Xiangsha Pingwei Granules, which is composed of Atractylodes lancea, Magnolia officinalis, Tangerine peel, Costus root, Amomum villosum, and Licorice. It has the effects of strengthening the spleen and stomach, relieving chest distension, drying dampness and resolving phlegm, opening the uterus, and promoting the smooth flow of qi and blood, allowing menstruation to proceed. Usage: Take 1 bag (10 grams) each time, orally 2 to 3 times a day. Other options include Weisu Granules, Weide'an Tablets, Pingwei Powder, etc.

③ Qi stagnation and blood stasis cause amenorrhea for several months, depression, irritability, chest and flank distension, lower abdominal distension and pain or refusal to be pressed. The edges of the tongue are dark purple or have petechiae, and the pulse is deep, stringy or deep and astringent. The treatment is to promote blood circulation, remove blood stasis, regulate qi and relieve stagnation. You can choose to use Qizhi Xiangfu Pills together with Leonurus Paste. Qizhi Xiangfu Pills are composed of angelica, white peony root, Chuanxiong, Rehmannia root, Atractylodes macrocephala, Cyperus rotundus, donkey-hide gelatin, Corydalis yanhusuo, Leonurus japonicus, Amomum villosum and Scutellaria baicalensis. Usage: Take 1 pill (9 grams) of Qizhi Xiangfu Pills each time, twice a day. Motherwort paste (made from motherwort), 10 grams each time, orally 1 to 2 times a day. Other Chinese patent medicines such as Huoxue Tiaojing Pills, Women's Dysmenorrhea Pills, Xuefu Zhuyu Oral Liquid, Tiaojing Huoxue Tablets, etc. can be used.
