What happens when women bleed when they go to the toilet?

Blood in the stool is appearing more and more frequently in our lives. Many people, not understanding the cause of blood in the stool, habitually think that it is caused by constipation. In fact, this concept is wrong. Bloody stool is not only caused by constipation. On a deeper level, it may be that an organ in the body has been diseased. It requires a systematic examination to determine the cause of the bloody stool.

Modern white-collar women, due to excessive work and life pressure, are in a sub-healthy state for a long time, and many hidden diseases continue to threaten women's health. Blood in the stool is one of the biggest threats.

What is blood in the stool?

Blood in the stool means that during the defecation process, due to lesions in relevant parts of the body, blood is discharged from the anus. The stool contains blood or is entirely "bloody", and in some cases it is accompanied by pain.

Long-term blood in the stool can cause iron deficiency anemia, leading to mental depression, fatigue, etc. At the same time, constipation actually indicates that there is a disease in the anorectal area of the body, so we must pay full attention to blood in the stool and take timely treatment measures to avoid an irreversible situation.

What is the cause of blood in stool?

1. Hemorrhoids

Because people are in the same fixed posture for a long time and cause fatigue, such as sitting in the office for a long time, standing at the work station for a long time, etc., it affects blood circulation, slows blood flow in the pelvis, causes congestion of internal organs, causes excessive filling of hemorrhoidal veins, leads to varicose veins and forms hemorrhoids. During defecation, it will be squeezed and cause blood in the stool.

2. Anal fissure

Anal fissure is a common anorectal disease. Ulcers form after the skin layer of the anal canal is torn, causing blood in the stool.

Women are more likely to develop anal fissures than men. Pregnancy and childbirth in women cause the vagina to dilate, tear the anus, and lead to bloody stools. Another reason is that women tend to stay in bed for a long time after pregnancy, which reduces their activity and slows down their gastrointestinal motility, accelerating the relaxation and weakness of the abdominal wall after delivery. Food and feces can easily accumulate in the intestines. In addition, they need to reduce their water intake and fruit and vegetable intake during the confinement period, which can easily lead to constipation. Once constipation worsens, it can easily cause anal fissures. According to previous surveys, 76% of women suffer from postpartum constipation, and 71% of patients with anal fissures suffer from constipation.

3. Dysentery: bacterial dysentery, amoebic dysentery, etc.

Diarrhea with blood in the stool is caused by intestinal inflammation. Intestinal inflammation causes the capillaries in the intestinal mucosa to burst, and blood will flow out during defecation. Diarrhea and bloody stools should be taken seriously, as many malignant diseases such as colon cancer develop from diarrhea and bloody stools. Do not confuse bloody stools caused by diarrhea with bloody stools caused by hemorrhoids.

4. Inflammation: Ulcerative Colitis

The stool is mainly bloody and mucous, with the stool mixed with blood, pus and mucus. Generally, the amount of bleeding is not much. It is accompanied by abdominal pain, diarrhea, or alternating symptoms of diarrhea and constipation. Complications may cause symptoms such as weight loss, weakness in the limbs, low-grade fever and anemia.

5. Cancer: rectal cancer, colon cancer, etc.

Malignant tumors of the gastrointestinal tract are related to diet and lifestyle. Blood in the stool is one of its symptoms. Bleeding in the early stage of the disease is a common gastrointestinal malignancy and is related to food, genetics, lifestyle and dietary habits. The amount of bleeding is small in the early stage, and the blood adheres to the surface of the stool. After the infection develops, pus and blood in the stool will appear, which is generally painless. It usually occurs between the ages of 30 and 60, and the majority of patients are male.

6. Polyps: rectal and colon polyps

Polyps refer to new growths on the intestinal mucosa, which are mostly caused by chronic irritation from feces and are common benign tumors. It mostly occurs in young people and children. The amount of bleeding varies from person to person and is generally painless. The condition of blood in the stool also depends on the size and location of the polyp.
