How to calculate ovulation period?

If you want to have a higher success rate in getting pregnant, you should calculate your ovulation period. The chance of getting pregnant will be greater during the ovulation period. There are many ways to calculate the ovulation period. You can calculate it according to the menstrual cycle, or according to the symptoms of the female ovulation period. There is also the basal body temperature method. By using multiple methods to calculate, the date of ovulation will be more accurate.

Calculate the menstrual cycle. This method is suitable for women with regular menstrual cycles. Counting from the first day of menstruation, the ovulation period is 14±2 days. For example: If the menstrual cycle is 28 days and the first day of menstruation is July 28, then one of the 12th, 13th, 14th, 15th, and 16th of this month is the ovulation day.

Observe your cervical mucus. Women usually have very little vaginal discharge just after menstruation, and it appears thick and sticky. In the middle of the menstrual period, that is, 1-2 days before ovulation, the vagina will become more and more moist. Not only will the secretions increase, but they will also become clear and transparent like egg white. You can pull out long threads when you touch them with your fingertips. The appearance of such vaginal discharge indicates that ovulation is imminent, which usually lasts for 3-5 days. After that, the vaginal secretions will gradually decrease and become thick and sticky and can no longer be drawn into threads.

Feel the pain in your lower abdomen. When ovulation occurs, there will be a dull pain in the lower abdomen, especially on the right or left side of the lower abdomen. Some women experience severe pain when the egg is released from the ovary. This painful feeling is a signal of ovulation, and this day is also the ovulation day.

Measure basal body temperature. What is basal body temperature? Basal body temperature refers to the body temperature measured after 6-8 hours of sleep, without any diet, exercise, emotional fluctuations or other behaviors that change body temperature. The temperature records measured by date are connected into a curve, which is called the basal body temperature curve. The basal body temperature curve can be used to summarize a pattern, that is, the body temperature is lower in the first half of menstruation and rises in the second half of menstruation.
