What causes itching in the female urethra?

Generally speaking, urethral itching is mostly caused by mycoplasma infection, which is closely related to private hygiene and unclean sexual contact. If the cause of the infection is unclear, it is best to examine the secretions and treat them based on the results to completely eliminate the bacteria.

More than 95% of urinary tract infections are caused by a single bacteria. Among them, 90% of outpatients and about 50% of inpatients are caused by Escherichia coli, which has more than 140 serotypes. The urinary infection-causing Escherichia coli is the same type as the Escherichia coli isolated from the patient's feces, and is often seen in asymptomatic bacteriuria or uncomplicated urinary infection. Proteus, Clostridium difficile, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and fecal Streptococcus are seen in patients with reinfection, indwelling catheters, and complications of urinary infection.

Candida albicans and Cryptococcus neoformans infections are more common in patients with diabetes, those using glucocorticoids and immunosuppressants, and after kidney transplantation. Staphylococcus aureus is more common in bacteremia and sepsis caused by skin trauma and drug addicts. Although viral and mycoplasma infections are rare, they have been increasing in recent years. Various bacterial infections are seen in indwelling catheters, neurogenic bladder, stones, congenital malformations, and vaginal, intestinal, and urethral fistulas.

When a urinary tract infection occurs, you can choose Chinese patent medicines such as Sanjin tablets or Chinese herbal decoctions for treatment. Some patients experience symptoms such as frequent urination, urgency, and pain when urinating, and often buy some anti-inflammatory drugs on their own. In fact, the anti-inflammatory drugs that everyone talks about are mostly antibiotics. Long-term and large-scale use of antibiotics can easily lead to drug resistance, which makes the treatment of urinary tract infections in the later stages more difficult. Therefore, when choosing antibiotic Western medicines, patients with urinary tract infections must use them with caution under the guidance of a doctor.

There are many causes of urinary tract infection, so we should check them one by one. After finding the cause of urinary tract infection, we should carry out relevant treatment based on the cause.
